Evil has spent probably 1/2 that. I know I've dropped at least a 1k and that's just me.

 
Also, I found it funny that MCP realized we are too big for them to bite so they is going for a smaller one (the poor roos).

 
10k is nothing. I've spent probably close to a quarter of that myself.

 
I spent a couple hundred myself and i'm a broke ass college student so thats a good 1/4 of my monthly income. Congrats on the ramp everyone.




 
Well to their credit, even if it's almost impossible for them to catch us, MPC has the steepest climbing graph of any of the top 4 teams. To a larger or lesser degree, they have successfully caused the higher teams in the rankings to ramp up considerably. They are as much deserving of a round of applause as anyone else. Hope they can keep on moving up.

You are very correct .... I put building my new rig on hold for the team......

Gonna be Q3-Q4 of this year before I can build my skulltrain system .....

Really I just want a Intel V8 system ....

That's a really compelling platform, but I expect it to be very expensive, even for the claimed performance levels. What components are you intending to configure with it? Extreme processors? SLI video cards? 8GB of system RAM? It's going to cost several thousand any way you look at it, so it better be doing a heck of a lot more than folding (honestly speaking).

You can have an 8-core system now for a fraction of the price. I'm referring to older Clovertown processors and 667MHz RAM, instead of Harpertown-based Extreme processors and 800MHz memory. Mind you, that doesn't have the sex appeal of a true V8, but if all you want to do is fold...

You guys have done a great job of ramping up. We've noticed your folding Mojo and appreciate the dedicated work all of you have shown in crunching for a cure.

Although, I wouldn't call MPC crumbling. You guys are definitely giving us a great goal to aim for! Without your lead, many of us would be hard pressed to find the fun in this. Folding would be done regardless, but may as well have a blast while doing it right!?

Pfft screw them I am adding two Q6600's, one just went into production this morning and another will hit next week.

The $60 Abit P35-E mobo was too good to pass up :) LOL... Plus its for a good cause and is fun.

I should have a q6600 to replace my E6420 in the next couple weeks if thats any help.

On that note, a good friend of mine had one kidney fail 2 days ago, and her other is only working at 18%. She's not in very good shape but is on the emergency donor list. I will be going down to see if I can give her one of mine.
