I uninstalled my audio drivers for the GA-8I915P Duo-A motherboard in order to fix a problem with booting windows, and I can't seem to reinstall them.

I tried installing them from the original Gigabyte CD, but when I install the Microsoft High-Def audio bus driver, I get a "You do not have permission to update Windows XP. Please contact your system administrator error". However, when I boot XP I don't get a login screen (never have gotten one in the past, except for in safe mode), so I can't login to the administrator there, and I when I try to switch users, I only get one user, which is the one I am currently using. It is not the administrator. When I try to do "Run As" administrator, I get the same "You do not have permission...." error.

Please Help
Thanks

I tried using the Windows Recovery console, but I'm not sure how to use all of the commands. Does anyone know how to fix a problem with that console?

Thanks

I don't think that Windows is even detecting my onboard sound hardware; it always prompts me to install a raid device, which I'm too lazy to do, but it hasn't prompted me to install anything for my onboard sound....

Just some more info - when I open device manager, I get an error saying that I do not have sufficient security privileges to uninstall devices or update drivers???????
I'm the only user on this computer!
