Monitor with clearest text?

I had a similar issue about a year or so back ... the monitor that solved it for me, text-wise, was my Doublesight DS-265w. It's a 26" IPS monitor with a native resolution of 1920x1200. I didn't like the text on my former 30", IPS 2560x1600 Dell 3007WFP-HC or my 24" S-PVA Westinghouse L2410NM, and wanted something kind of in between, yet better than both. I guess in my case, having the 1920x1200 resolution, but in a bigger (26") size than my 24", was the key issue.

I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned before, but changing the colour temperate to ~5000k is much more easy-going for the eyes especially if you spend long hours looking at text.
 
A delayed response but for 1000% sure (especially with things like PDF's) the absolute clearest monitor is the IBM T221 display.

I have both the VP2290b and a IBM T221 9503-DGP (DG5 equivelent sold in Japan). I recently got the T221 off a yahoo auction in Japan and cost me about $550 USD after shipping and everything. I am running it at 48Hz and it is great for video and PDFs look awesome on it. It looks like printed paper and you can't see the pixels at all unless you use a magnifying glass.

If you can find one at a good price they are by far the clearest display due to their 205 PPI (22.2 inch 3840x2400 resolution).

There are some dual link DVI to 2x single link DVI adapters and cables that can make running it @ 48Hz much easier (via two dual link DVI connections) but the adapters are hard to come by.
