MoH Warfighter Official Thread

it looks amazing on my computer fo sho

i agree, it did look pretty good with Frostbite 2.0, but I guarantee they outsourced that whole sequence to another developer....30fps lock, automatic drop in screen resolution...screams of console port

yeah that is pretty whack. although at least it is for the driving part only. I havent touched the SP its hard for me to get through the SP on fps games.

i like to jump right into that MP

Graphically,DX11 @ Ultra settings looks better than BF3..It seams they have tweaked it a little.Quite impressive.GRAPHICALLY at least

looks better then BF3?...can anyone else confirm this?

good to see more and more games coming out with DX11 support...hopefully it will become standard soon...too bad the game is not on Steam as it would no doubt be under $15 during the Holiday Sale...does Origin ever discount their games?

they've had crazy sales recently. i bought a few games @ 60% off got all three mass effect games for like 20 bones

Hmmm...you're playing this game? You haven't steered me wrong yet. :)

Dan D. do you have it or are you just looking over media and such?

I've just looked at videos and screenshots. I don't think I'll actually be getting this game. I'm getting fairly burned out on military shooters and the last Medal of Honor game blew goats. This one doesn't seem like it will offer anything worth full price. I might get it when it gets really cheap or something. I did look at videos to make that decision but so far from that play through video I haven't seen anything which is really all that compelling. The AI looks pretty bad for one thing and the game play looks mundane for another.

I got it only because I paid $35.

It's ok. not worth $59.

Was watching KVO play through the game on Gamespot and it follows every single fucking scripted military shooter cliche and trope in the book. It would appear Danger Close learned absolutely nothing from its previous fuck-up. So much for EA's big "MOH didn't meet quality standards hurr"...

MP is an unplayable mess right now IMO. FOV is locked to 70. You can change it to whatever you want but that only effects the FOV while you are sprinting. Once you stop sprinting it goes back to default 70. The amount of screen shake is also RIDICULOUS. It's hard to play for more than 10 minutes. It gives me a headache. There is also massive rubberbanding on 4 out of 5 servers I join, no matter how low the ping is. The guns feel clunky and unresponsive, and it takes way too many hits to kill someone for the type of shooter this is supposed to be. The UI is also a cluttered mess that's unintuitive and very hard to navigate.

Maybe I'll try the SP this weekend if I have free time, but right now I'm staying away from MP until shit gets fixed/adjusted. Even at $30 I feel ripped off. The MP right now is actually worse than MOH 2010. Never thought I'd be saying that.

MP is somewhat fun but feels really similar to MOH 2010 MP. i'm only playing because i'm hard-up for a new FPS game. planetside 2 can't get here soon enough.

Yeah, after spending a few more hours in MP I can confirm it's steaming pile of hot garbage...nice try Danger Close, so close, yet so far away.

Reviews are coming in from around the net and it's not looking too good. EA knew that this game was going to bomb, hence the day 1 review embargo. Start the countdown timers for the layoffs and imminent shutdown @ Danger Close.

...So reviewers actually had to wait until after Day One to release their reviews?!

EDIT: nevermind, I found out why. Good game EA

As I write up this post, Medal of Honor: Warfighter is steadily marching its way onto my hard drive. EA and Danger Close didn't send out early review copies because, as the massive day one patch proves, work continued on the shooter right up until the final minutes before launch, bringing new features, tons of fixes, and a healthy coat of polish.

So our MoH: Warfighter review isn't ready because I haven't played it yet. I will say this, though, while it's understandable EA would push to give Warfighter a head start on Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (set for launch November 13), the huge day one patch indicates Danger Close had to seriously crunch to ship it on time, and it is cause for concern. I'll find out for sure if Warfighter needed more time in the oven starting soon, and will get you our official review as soon as possible.

so they didn't learn, improve or evolve anything from the 2010 version?...so much for listening to user feedback

In the fiery interview beteen Gamespot's Tom McShea and the game's lead developer, he was actively talking up how good the 2010 MOH was, which sent the first wave of alarm bells for me that Warfighter wouldn't improve on anything.

I did give the xbox beta a go and the multiplayer seemed ok. I guess nobody had worked out all the camp spots to the map yet.

I bought this last night and waiting it to unlock because its not released in Australia yet. Lets hope this game is worth my $60, though I don't have high hopes for it, only got this game because it uses DX11 and I wanted to see how well it runs on my PC.

I'm not sure it looks better, but it looks different. My computer runs MOHW at significantly higher frame rates than BF3 but the maps are way smaller and with less players.

So far I'm having fun but it seems like I'll probably get bored or annoyed with it quickly.

It also has a low budget feel compared to BF3. Some of the animations are a bit wonky. The sound is definitely nowhere near as good as BF3.

I'll have to report back after putting in some more hours of playtime but so far not too bad for $30.

I'd get it for $30 but I don't have BF3 Premium, just the regular verison. Quit before Premium was available.

This game just unlocked and so far the campaign is just boring, as usual, too many unskipable cutscenes, extreme linear slowpaced gameplay and too generic. I don't recommend this game at all.

couple things

the map designs are just okay

in hardcore it takes WAY too many shots to kill somebody. rather retarded. needs damage increases to make this game more enjoyable.

also there is a lot going on that is pretty confusing. like the rank system and there is like 200 unlocks for each class but you unlock them in order so if youre playing spec ops you dont unlock spec ops shit? idk crazy.

I do have to agree that the Multiplayer graphics are great, they are definitely more polished than BF3, but some of the movements and gun mechanics seem a little delayed, but it may just be me getting used to the gameplay.

You were expecting something different from a game made for teenagers?

yep, I have to agree, the further I get into the SP....rinse.wash.repeat...other than the ultra graphics this has absolutely nothing new to offer. I'm not even going to bother finishing the SP campaign at this point..

Already finished SP. About 4 hours total. I finished it at work last night between calls.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I honestly would've rather put my $30 towards Black Ops 2.

Ugh. Oh well...

Jim Sterling gave the game a 5/10 as well

edit: whoops, beaten to the punch

Good quote:

I believe it's telling that every screenshot on this review was provided with a giant logo bearing the name's game. Even the publisher realizes how homogeneous these titles have become, that a screenshot alone is not enough to tell which one we're actually talking about.

Sometimes crap is crap. Glad some people are enjoying it. It really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

This has been one of the worst, long, dragged out, ugly Alzheimer's like death for a once great gaming series. Enough. I hope this is finally the end of it. The last one should have been.Allied Assault is one of my all time favorite games so it's just been sickening to watch.
