Ok,
I've sleeved my PSU and I'm getting bored again...
I'm still not happy with the extra wires laying around my case that aren't being used even
though they're tucked away. I was thinking about going with one of the new modular
PSUs that are becoming popular, but then started thinking why not do it myself.
Partially to save a few bucks (always welcomed) and partially to kill an afternoon and
get it exactly they way I want it.
My existing PSU came with my Chieftec case about a year ago, but it has been running
reliably since. I don't know what brand/manufcaturer it is so I don't know its over all
quality. It felt fairly heavy when I pulled it out to sleeve it so I'm guessing it's decent.
Are there any downsides to doing the mod myself?
Should I expect to run into problems? or is it as straight forward as it looks?
Are there any reasons NOT to do it, and just break down and shell out cash for a new one?
Which leads to the question, what would all of you recommend. the x-connect one I saw on another thread seemed nice...)
And before somebody says it, Yes I know there is the potential that I'll blow the whole thing to hell and HAVE to buy a new PSU, which goes back to the question above...
Thanks for any advice/hints/tips, etc...
