Modding a EK-XRES 140 Revo D5 power pins

Im trying to mod my EK-XRES 140 Revo D5 to be powered by the motherboard.I have a ASUS x299 TUF Mark 1 and using the W_PUMP+ header thats rated 3A at 12Volts. I did the mod but the header wont power the pump.ITs max wattage 26 which the header can supply. am I missing something here I also have pictures on the mod and the header pin out diagram too.

It's tough to tell what you've got going on from the pictures you've supplied.

I think I'm looking at two stock molex plugs plugged into an adapter of some kind and an unmodded 4pin plug.

Can you do a wiring diagram of what you actually changed?

If you're really set on trying this, step one should just be to get the pump to turn on. Try with just the power wires and once you get it working then add the PWM stuff since the pump will run without those.

I would definitely ditch the adapters you have though, it could be why it's not working. Just cut the wires and do it the right way and it will probably work for you.
