So my vid card was overheating like no tomorrow, so I went to bestbuy(had a giftcard) and bought a dynex 120mm fan, went to put it in my case and realized that the mesh part on the side wasnt ment for a 120mm fan its like a little bit smaller square, so I put two screws in the fan and put it there anyways but like 1/3rd of the fan is just sucking the side of the case and its loud as hell.

So could I cut away the mesh part of the case and make the whole bigger and install the fan and use modders mesh to cover the fan hole?

Heres my main questions, where should I buy it? Nothing fancy just black and cheap
The mesh goes on the inside of the panel correct?
And when I cut it what is the best tool to use to cut the side panel of the case?

Aluminum modder's mesh can be cut with a pair of cheap wire cutters, or even scissors if they are sharp. You could also use tin snips for long straight cuts.

Steel modder's mesh can only be cut with medium to heavy duty grade wire cutters, or tine snips if they are sharp.

You aren't gonna find black modder's mesh anywhere, but you can paint it very easily. I posted a quick guide to painting modder's mesh if you do a search for modder's mesh here on the forums.

You'd put the modder's mesh on the INSIDE of the hole, between the fan and the case, since there will be lots of sharp edges on the mesh.
 
By the way, why not just use a 120mm wire grill? They cost like $1.00, and you can get them in black already done.
 
I was so very close to editing the title and making it "perforated hex" just for kicks but I see sarver already got here and he's the only one to get the joke. :D
 
Hmm that never corssed my mind, I will probably just get a 120mm grill cover. :p What is the best way to cut out the panel tho?

And the 120mm did the trick played WOW for about 5 hours with not artifacting.
 
I prefer nibblers over a Dremel.

That question has been answered a bajillion times on here. Do a search and get some answers.
 
Back to the OP's other question.

Where is the best place to buy modders mesh? I need some.

I took out the plexi in the side of my case because it was restricting air flow to my XP-90. I need to put some mesh over the big opening to stop my small animals from trying to jump inside.
