Mobo or CPU toast?

Just recently purchased a P8P67 Pro and a I7 2600k. Everything was going great until out of the blue the computer started to randomly shut down. Now the computer will not even post. It powers on for about half a second, then powers off.

I figured it was the power supply so I have replaced that and it still has the same issue.

Since then, I have tried the following.

1. Clearing CMOS
2. Remove video card and other hardware
3. Removed the RAM
4. Removed and reseated the CPU
5. Tried a different wall socket and connected / not connected to UPS
6. Removed battery also

With nothing else installed, just the mobo and the cpu, it has the same effect. Powers on for half a second, then powers off. No beeps or warnings at all

FYI, overclock was @ 4.5ghz and vCore was 1.31v.. Temps were always well under max op temp

Motherboard or CPU toast? What else would you suggest trying before RMAing?

First I would throw your cpu in another 1155 board, and run prime and intel burn test for atleast an hour. If it comes out fine with no errors, then its not your cpu. Next, I would use that same motherboard and run Memtest on your ram. If that passes, then its probably your motherboard. Im sure you tried replacing the gfx card with a known working one, and still have same problem, and power supply could be, but you already replaced that too, but try getting a power supply tester to be sure.
 
I'd try a different CPU if possible. But the likelihood of a mobo issue is greater than a CPU issue.
 
Luckily just got another 1155 board and an I5 2500 at work so will be able to use those to determine mobo or cpu for sure.
 
i have the same overclock... @4.5, though my vcore is 1.330v for it to be stable. Perhaps upping the vcore a bit more.
 
Just tested the I5 2500 in the motherboard and it posted. CPU must be stuffed. Returning today
