I seem to be having trouble finding a specific board. LGA 775 (he uses a Q6600), crossfire compatible (got a pair of 5750s for $60 each, is why), SATA 3GB/sec would be nice (for the SSD upgrade), DDR2 would be nice (so he doesn't have to replace it).

Are you willing to buy used? If so, hit up our For Sale and For Trade subforum. There should be Intel P45 motherboards from Asus, Gigabyte, or MSI that fits your exact requirements for around $50 or so.
