Take a look at what the XDA Developers did with their forums. Instead of joining the Tapatalk group they created their own XDA Premium app. I know Kyle is apparently against using Tapatalk. This is a way to help increase membership, increase revenue to help pay for things, and would provide a REAL mobile version of the forums with an easy to use GUI made for touch screens. I don't know about you guys but most of my time on the forums is on my mobile in the LazyBoy instead of at the desktop......

Please do not point me to the circa 2002 "mobile" version of the site. That would have been nice back when I had a Cingular Windows Mobile phone and limited bandwidth. Today's mobile variants need to be easy to use with one finger on a touch screen device without doing any pinch-zooming or double tapping. We don't care about saving bandwidth when we are paying top dollar for 4G/LTE speeds.

The Premium app can be an annual fee based option, similar to GenMay access. Heck I'd pay $5 for an [H] Premium app for Android/WinPhone/iOS! ....on top of the annual fee for GenMay.

With your own app I would think the security issues with Tapatalk should be addressed but I don't know 100%. I'm thinking that's why the sharp guys over at XDA went that route.

Kyle has stated before, that if anyone wants to make an [H] app to go for it. Nobody has bitten on that though.

I see.....I guess I just figured with todays use of mobile devices it would be something they would just get done. Even if it costs a few bucks to get it done it would pay for itself rather quickly I would think. Might have to take a poll......

May the search be with you:

If you can do it send an email, otherwise it's going to be back burner until someone who can do it gets in touch since it isn't that big a deal. It is kind of like the merchandising, people talk a big game but totally flake in the end and it is just a pain in the ass.

I don't search much. Tagging along to old threads does little to nothing to spur action. Not like this is much better but I figure the more separate threads about the same topic the more it will become apparent people want that thing.

Also because so many of these threads end in the obligatory "pointing to mobile version of site" followed with a CLOSED button, and because I am asking for a different thing, I felt like I would take the time to make a new thread, from my phone.

Has anyone tried using the app inventor program to make something? I'm no good with things like this or I would try, I lose focus with shit to easy, lol.
Not sure if it would work out but it looked promising.

XDA App IS tapatalk. check the tapatalk site as to why. XDA community paid 1000usd for the rights for one site, lol... (and the app, their own branding, etc).
