Missing HDD Drive Capcity Meter

Hey guys, I was playing WC3 one day and my computer suddenly locked up, so I rebooted and my computer kept BSOD on vista loading screen. So i got into safe mode and chkdsk and even that hanged in the middle, so I thought great, now I have a dead harddrive.

However, after a couple more reboots and replugging the HDD cables, it finally finished the chkdsk scan and now my computer rebooted and it seems to be in working condition but the hdd capacity meter in my computers is missing in vista 32.

And yes, I've made sure the viewing mode is in tile mode but the meter is still missing. Not only that, the meter that's usually on the bottom of the status panel is missing too. Any ideas on how I can get it back?

click on view and click tiles,

If that doesn't fix it, which it seems it is already in tiles,then you have discovered the mysterious 'disappearing folder name bug' that happens in vista. I had it once before but I also had a bad mobo. Since i've released it, i havn't had any issues with vista.
 
Yeah, I'm aware that I have to be in tile mode which I was in the screenshot posted above. the HDD meter is still missing.

After digging through google for some possible fixes, I eventually gave up and reinstalled windows... took awhile to get all my apps reinstalled and settings back to the way I wanted them. it was a nightmare. :mad:

The problem seems to be a HDD corruption due to loose SATA cable on my OS drive, if it's not that then I have no other ideas as to why that would mess up my OS drive.

Another possibility is the nforce SATA driver dated January 2008 caused some rare random drive corruption.

Either way, after I installed everything, vista seems to be back in working order...
