Hello all…hope some of you won’t mind looking over a first-time builder’s specs.

I should start by saying that I'm well-aware that this is a low-end system. The computer will mainly be used by my wife for office apps and Web surfing, it will probably never see any games. Provided this goes well, I will be building a gaming rig in a month or two. Anyway, I’m just wondering if this bird is gonna fly, or if I just haven’t made the smartest choices for this kind of box.

I haven’t listed any peripherals because I’m really just concerned with the main components. Here they are:

the only thing I would suggest is that if you think you might ever want to upgrade this PC to find a socket 754 or 939 mobo. Socket A is on its way out.

Everything looks fine. I have one suggestion though, look into the Antec Sonata case. For the combined price of your case and power supply, you get a better (IMO) and quieter case along with a 380w antec PSU. Though the 300w antec you have now is enough, I say the extra $8 is worth it. I just built a system with that case and it's great to work with, even compared to my Antec 1080.
