I thought the top end phenom II x4 out preforms the lower i5's and mid and i7's that are lga1156.
also one thing you could do is get a phenom II X2 550 BE for 80 bucks and unlock it. I just did it with a friends computer and it worked like a charm. all you gotta do is enable ACC in bios. its a single check box and thats it, about a 70-90%+ chance to get a fantasicly cheap quad.
just noticed your chip is a AM2+ and not AM3, so your going to have to change your chip regardless. Im not completly sure but I think your mobo is AM3 only. just fyi
if your going to go eyefinity, it would be worth it to use that extra 70 bucks saved on the CPU and put it towards a 5850. a 5770 wont be able to run 3x monitors well. it can but not with much eye candy, which is alot of the fun. a 5850 @ 3x 22" would be pretty nice

As Sikkyu pointed out, the Phenom II 940 will not work with socket AM3 and DDR3 RAM. You need to get either the Phenom II 945 or 955 to go with that mobo and RAM. Since you want Crossfire, you're better off with this CPU and mobo combo:
$240 - AMD Phenom II X4 945 CPU + GIGABYTE GA-MA790GPT-UD3H AM3 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard Combo
I see no reason whatsoever for you to spend $65 (BTW I think you have two of those HSF in your cart) since you're not overclocking. Save some money and go with this HSF instead:
$30 - Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus HSF for LGA 1366 and LGA 1156
PSU wise, the Xigmatek is ok. But if you want quality and modular cables, I'd recommend this PSU instead:
$130 - Corsair 650HX 650W Modular PSU
If you want quality and don't mind the loss of modular cables, I'd recommend this:
$100 - Corsair 650TX 650W PSU
Also how many hard drives are you planning to put inside that case? It already comes with 4 hard drive bays. Unless you have a 5th or more drives, no reason to get that HDD mounting kit.

Somewhat. In general, the lower end i5s and i7s aren't worth buying.
