Yeah, they mentioned the marketplace coming to Xbox Live, but I was hoping we'd see the device. According to Major Nelson's twitter there is a Microsoft luncheon going on, after the keynote, and they were going to announce some more stuff, so here's hoping.

deception``'s post about full/retail 360 games coming to Live for download is one of those things they have announced at the luncheon apparently.
 
right lads. i wil gvie my overal impression of the MS conference. it was brilliant and i am liking the look of some of the exclusive games plus the project natal stuff.

for me Sony has to do more then just add in game voice chat, cross game invite,MAG, PS3 Slim, PSP Go and God of war 3 to top MS's conference. Sony really need to announce a bombshell literely or else MS will run all over sony's ps3.

i am amazed at the potential the dashboard of the 360 can do and Sony needs to sort out there act with its own XMB.

This project natal stuff really sounds amazing and a potential wii beater and im not sure ps3 can top this.

GT5 MUST come out sometime this year or else they are in deep trouble. Forza 3 will come out in october and it is its main rivals of gran tourismo and those people who are still yet to have either console and love racing games would most probably get the 360 as forza 3 will(ATM) come out before GT5(which is still a mystery).

To think that Turn10 is about to release TWO SEQUALS since the last proper gran tourismo game is diabolical imo.

Alan wake? what can i say, that game i have been waiting for so long and i am glad its being released. this game will be awsome given by the video i saw. Ps3's heavy rain is the closest that will come in competing with alan wake. NOW this is a good time to own BOTH consoles and not be blinded like a fanboy

Sorry to go a bit off topic but i dont want to turn this into a 360 vs ps3 thread but im just expressing my amazement on MS's fantastic presentation.

honestly, I was considering a PS3 since a few of my closer friends are fanboy's but after seeing MS's keynote, I'll probably grab another xbox

edit: MS better start offering better upgrade options for hard drives though. That's it's biggest disadvantage to sony right now

Its going to be hard to top the project natal for sure. Its not something im interested in, but its going to get a lot more people to pick up PS3s because of the family friendly stuff to play. When i want to play games though, its something i like to do to relax.

Forza really needs a good controller peripheral to put icing on the cake. *Edit: woops looks like i spoke too soon. Wish they didnt brand it with porche :( .

Halo is just halo to me.

I think the dashboard and the xmb are the same interface. Microsoft taking the more colorful look while the ps3 is more minimal. The facebook, netflix, and twitter things are cool if youre into that stuff. The netflix portion stands out for me though.
 
They should make it a generic steering wheel rather than the universal one that porche uses.

Freakin' WOW at MS Natal. Looks like Microsoft is pulling out all stops against the likes of Sony and Nintendo. We'll see what develops from their keynotes.
 
Watching my G4 recording now and I am so sick of hearing "The definitive racing game of the generation" in the Forza segment.

Except that MS charges wayyyyyyyyyyyy too much for HD's, and they are too small. It wont take long to fill up HD's. The idea is great, and will be fantastic is they stop gouging people on HD's, and put out bigger models. I like buying digital versions of games, at least for my PC. Havent done so much for the consoles yet, because I let friends borrow games after I beat them, and vice versa. This wouldnt be possible with downloading games.

I think this is the point. On the other hand, you won't have to deal with an insanely loud dvd-drive. I'm sure MS will have a better HDD

Why do you need to fill up a hard drive with stuff? A 120GB hard drive will hold at least 10 full games. Are you really going to play that many back to back?

I wouldn't. I think 120gb would seem enough. Unless people want all of their games digitally owned only. Like the other guy said, I think it's better ot take your disc to a friend's house and play it. But maybe you can just yank your hard drive out and bring it over there. *shrugs*
 
My impressions of MS's keynote

Out of MS's camp Alan Wake and the Milo presentations were the 2 most impressive.

Halo ODST looks exactley like halo 3 graphically and more less screams MS trying to milk the franchise for everything and the kitchen sink.

Crackdown 2 and Left 4 Dead interest me but still on the fence about those cuz crackdown was ok and L4D was okay imo.

Modern warfare 2 timed DLC was expected since the 1st one had the DLC 1st on the 360 before the PS3. Which doesn't bother me any since I play most multilayer on Live vs PSN.

Of the whole conference I enjoyed seeing the new gameplay footage of modern warfare 2 more than anything else.

Actually some of those screenshots come directly from one of the trailers, which says right at the beginning "Actual Gameplay Footage." For example, this photo:

So if the screens are legit, it's a very big improvement from Forza 2. I can't wait... 400 cars, 100 tracks, and I can't wait to start customizing cars again.

I thought gamespot, but they are "encoding" for the last few hours...

Good question. I tried looking earlier but didn't find anything. I'm hoping Microsoft puts the whole conference up on Xbox Live. I think they did last year, but I could be wrong.

Forza 2 was 60fps wasn't it ? For driving games, 30 doesn't cut it anymore, that's for sure.

I wonder if Forza 3 has a replay mode in 30fps with the added effects ?
 
Metal Gear Solid Rising .... staring Raiden .... seeing what he did in MGS 4 .... has Devil May Cry ripoff written all over it.

I hope this is a 360 exclusive ...
