Ignore the other poster.

Try Frys or Circuit City. If that fails, Newegg or pricewatch.com. :)

i think the 3.0a is jst the more sleek looking one, its the one i have and untill i looked online i didnt even know there was a different design.

Anyway serisouly i've tried sooo many online sites, and Everyone carries the wireless 4.0 (called the 2.0) and the corded 3.0...

maybe the corded 4.0 was so much the same as the 3.0 they just didnt make it? I have no idea of the innerworkings are the same...

Well, I doubt that there woudl be any real difference... I can't tell the difference between my IntelliMouse and my Logitech mouse, except the Logitech is easier to scroll. :p

know this before you purchase it: all mice with microsoft's new 'tilt-wheel' do not have a ratcheting wheel. the scroll wheel moves perfectly smooth-- making it very difficult to utilize effectively in some games. this is the main thing that deterred me from upgrading.

Yeah, a friend got one and said 'it scrolls a million pages per micrometer'. :p It does take a little gettin gused to, but it is still okay for gaming.

I have the wireless intellimouse explorer 2.0, which is the same as the 4.0 wired. You're right, the scroll wheel does suck for switching weapons in games. That is why I reassigned the change weapons key to the back button on the mouse, which works much better than ANY scoll wheel. The mouse has no lag time, and when compared to the mx700, was better in games, it was much more precise and responsive, but both are great mice.

I read somewhere that the new Intellimouse 4.0 has the same sensitivity in the sensor as the newer logitechs. So it should be better in flickwristing FPS games. I always liked the shape of the Intellimice better than the MX500 and MX700 I am using now. I had the Intellimouse Bluetooth version but I couldn't use it in games since it wasn't as sensitive and that it would go out whenever someone called on the home phone! I may have to get one soon though to try out since I think the tilt would be excellent if it is supported in games. Imagine tilting the wheel to look around corners in COD.

Wow that would be sweet especially with an analog tilt controll. IE not tilt/no tilt but degrees of tilt.

To my knowledge the tilt wheel isnt supported, since u can only use with the stupid 5.0 drivers that dont allow for custom bindings.

Logitech mice use 800dpi, and Microsoft use 400. BUT The microsoft mice take almost twice as many pictures per second as the logitech so it gives them a different feel.
And most say the microsoft track highspeeds much better. I Cant get my 3.0 to mess up when i flick it as fast as i cant with my wrist.
