Microcenter Visiontek 5870 $357 shipped(Not B&M only!)

limited availability now, my expected ship date is 2/13/2010

Looks like AMD wants to sell as many HD 5800 possible before the arrival of the GTX470 and 480.

I think this is Microcenter's promotion actually. They usually do 20% off all "BYOPC" parts for one month every year.

can anyone tell me what happened to the nvidia 300 series? I know they had a 310, but any others?

What is the perf difference (as well as power/heat difference) between the 5870 and 5850?

5850 beats GTX-285, 5870 ties or beats GTX-295.

Add $25 in tax to the price :(

Rumor has it they will still release a few Direct X 10.1 cards. Some new, some rebadges under this name. They want to avoid confusion by having Direct X 10.1 and Direct X 11 cards under the same series, so Direct X 11 is moved to the 400 series.

Their shipping rates are really reasonable too.

Standard $5.99
Two Day $8.99
Next Day $11.99

Seems like the 5850 is the sweet spot right now. Hopefully they will be available soon for south of $250.

I got the 5870 in one set up and dual 260gtx (sli) in a second both are i7's oc'ed to 3.8. The 5870 regularly performs better than the sli set up with much less power use. I am jonesing for AvP since the full version supports dx 11 and eye finity.

My past RMA experience with Visiontek will steer me clear of them in the future. Just putting that out there.
