DSOGaming is reporting that Deepsolver has announced that the upcoming Metro Exodus has been delayed until 2019. Deep Silver stated via a press statement:

"The development of Metro Exodus is progressing well; we are all really excited by what we are seeing. We have been constantly reviewing the games progress to ensure that we deliver a product that gamers and fans of the Metro series want and deserve, as well as keeping an eye on announcements from our competitor products.

We want everyone to be able to experience what is the most ambitious Metro game to date at its absolute best and therefore we have taken the decision to move the release date to Q1 2019."

I may be in the minority, but I appreciate when a game of large scope gets delayed instead of yet another buggy AAA mess getting released. Hopefully it won't be too long, I'm looking forward to this. Make single player great again.

The predecessors were good games. I feared traversing the swamps while minding the Lobstrosities and warily scanning the skies for dragon demons.
    10/10, would die again
    Definitely #MSPGA

They can't compete with Red Dead Redemption 2, smart move by Deep Silver.

Nvidia must be having issues with their hardware ray tracing tech so the game gets delayed

Maybe you're right. Man, do I feel disconnected from what's been popular for the last 15 years. So, no one is safe releasing a game within the same 3 month window as R*? Is that really so?

In RDRs case, yes. There is no game that wants to launch anywhere near it, so all the publishers are spacing themselves around it, which probably doesn't leave a lot of room for Metro, so giving themselves time to clean up the game and get some time to themselves is probably a wise move.

Fine by me. Considering how stellar the last two games were, I don't mind waiting for another masterpiece.

I don't even mind if it was delayed purely just cause of RDR2. End of the day, successful games require good gameplay and marketing, so as long as they got the gameplay down, they can release whenever they want, its not like im devoid of good games in between.

Personally, I'm pretty excited about the announcement of S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2, by GSC Game World.

Kind of a bummer, was looking forward to playing this around the holidays but on the other hand I foremost want them to make it the best they can. Loved first 2 and have replayed more times than I can count.

    They aren't bad.

Personally the Russian post-apocalypyic setting pushes all thetright buttons for me, and the graphics were really good for the time (remember Metro 2033 came out in 2010) but they are kind of scripted tunnel shooters, so expect a more limited experience than what you'd get from an open world title like S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

As long as your expectations are in the right place, they can be truly enjoyable.

Well studios spend soooo much money making a AAA game that it would be foolish to cripple its very important launch by going up against other heavy hitters. If you can find some space to yourself it gives you a better chance, and for Metro, this isn't the type of game people give as Christmas gifts anyway, so why force it in to the holiday season.
