Merom debuts Tuesday

Looks like Merom officially debuts tomorrow.

"The jump in performance offered by the new chips is an important milestone. "It's probably as big as the Pentium was. The move from the 486 to the Pentium was a big move," Chandrasekher said. "This is probably in that same league."

Does this mean Conroe debuts tomorrow also?

I doubt it will be released today.

AFAIK , Woodcrest will be launched on june 19th , Conroe July 23rd and Merom sometime in August.

How long until we can expect OEMs like dell to have these in their machines? I want a D620 w/ merom. It's being released earlier than expected, no? Last I heard was August, and it's only june now!
