Memory question

Hi,
in my desktop right now I'm using two sticks of memory:

1x 256 MB PC2100
1x 512 MB PC2700

I know that PC2700 is faster than PC2100, and that they are backwards compatible, running at the lowest of the two speeds if both are installed.

Here is my question:

Will switching the 256 MB PC2100 with a 256 MB PC2700 give the computer a performance boost? If so, will it be noticeable? Let's say that I already had the 256 MB 2700, would it be worth the effort (those 2 minutes :) ) to switch it, or should I just leave it as is, because I know my computer works fine right now?

Thanks, Broekage

How can you tell?

I have a Dell Dimension 4550 bought at the end of January of last year.

BTW, I think it said that it came with PC2700 memory (which is why I bought the extra 512 as PC2700 also), but when I opened it up it said that the 256 that was in there was PC2100. So right now I want to switch that 256 with a PC2700 one.

If this helps (From the invoice):

Part # Part Description
1W392 Processor, 80532, 2.4G, 512K, 533, SKN, C1

and here is the URL for the technical specifications:
http://docs.us.dell.com/docs/systems/dim4550/specs.htm

form the site it looks like your board can make use of the pc2700. i say stick it in there:)
