I wasn't sure whether to put this in the mobo or memory forum. I just bought a ip35 pro, and am a bit unsure what ram to get. The FSB is 1333/1066MHz. I know it is compatible with 800MHz, so what would be benefit of going 1066 memory be? I believe it helps with overclocking, but I am not really sure. Is 1066 memory worth the price over 800? Thanks all.

If CPU is important, I am considering either a e2200, or I might go with the e6xxx

I don't think the difference in price between memory is worth it. I'd just get a set of good Cas 4 DDR2 800 memory. You can probably loosen the timings to 5-5-5 and be able to hit 1000mhz with a slight voltage bump.

I'd definitely put the extra money into a E6XXX series CPU over the E2XXX. Don't get me wrong, the E2XXX are great CPU's (mine does 3.2Ghz without any problems), but the cache is nice to have.

G.skill 2 x 2gb ddr2 1066 is good and the Corsair 2 x 2gb ddr2 1066 is good too. If you want to stick to ddr800 then I would go with the G.skill ddr2 800 at 5-5-5-15.

i have ddr2 800 g-skill and they work great. also used crucial with no problem on this board.

i built a system with that motherboard,q6600,and ocz reaper ddr800. very nice machine.

those common 2gb crucial ballistix that keep showing up for $30 work great in these and hit 1066 np.

I haven't had much luck with the ballistix. Mine fried without even stressing them.
