Mega Man 9!!!

MM1 was the hardest IMO. Iceman's stage and the Blob Monster in that game were insane.

Finish it? I can barely make it to any bosses! I think 9 is MUCH harder than 1. Of course, I played the crap out of 1 back in the day, as it was the only NES game I had for a few months. Now I've got a hundred games and only a half hour a day to play... :( Stupid real life...

I will have to get this game, how many Wii points is it? I only have about 9k points left.

Yep, finished it a few days ago :D. Working on my second runthrough ATM actually. The second time is much easier (especially Tornado Man's stage).

i have a hard time splitting gaming between wipeout hd, mega man 9 and nhl 09... 2 bosses to go for me, well them and the wily levels.

i agree, once you get through a stage, it becomes easy to repeat it. can't wait for some speed runs.

i really wish they programmed in trophy support for the ps3 version too.

I disagree completely that the game doesn't stand on it's own. More complicated is not always good.

Absolutely. I'd have paid double the price in a second.

I am a Mega Man Fanatic... and Have pwned thru every Mega Man, Since I was a little kid.

I would have easily paid $50 for this game.

MM9 is an outstanding game for NES standards. I know, we are far beyond NES, however, NES often had the best games.... Deffinatly the most fun games.

So Saying all of that, $10 was nothing to spend on this game.

I really really love Mega Man Music.

MM9 has some really really great music...

I will say right now that MM9 has the best Boss Battle Music out of any of them :p

i agree, mm9 has some awesome music, could easily throw some of it into a remix. well, not easily, heh.

Thanks for the responses. Looks like I'll pick this up some time soon. I have fond memories of playing the first several on the NES as a kid.

I wouldn't go that far, but I will say that Galaxy Man and Tornado Man's stages have some of the best stage music out of all the games :D.

I have every MM song on my itunes and I was comparing all of the battle music. I have always been partial to Mega Man 2's battle music.... I have always considered it the best. But now, after listening to the two side by side, MM9 I think does indeed take the cake.

I've searched for an answer to this to no avail. I downloaded the demo on xbl and noticed it clocked in at 89mb. Now I'm not complaining about the gameplay or graphics. I think it's great we get a "new" retro game as opposed to rehashing popular old IP with new edgy graphics/story/attitude *cough*sonic*cough*.

However, what exactly would make an 8bit game somehow consume 89mb of space  Is there more stuff in the full version like concept art or "making of" videos? It just seems odd is all.

Got to wiley... I cannot beat him. I need at least 1 Energy Tank :(

Oh well... At least I figured out the order of the bosses :)

no idea why it would ring up as an 89MB file... i think it was like 9MB on the ps3.

Wait... what? That only raises further questions.

If I remember correctly, the Wii version is 66 blocks of memory. Each block is 8 kilobytes. So its 528K for the Wii.

Yeah. I was going to check that later tonight. ~528K seems about right for a game like this. WTF xbl?

lol

xbox vs ps3 vs wii comin up!

:D

once i get home from the farm and back to my place, i'll check it out for sure... but my psn download took about a minute.

It's not that hard once you've practiced a bit. And the blob monster is easy once you get the pattern down. I've beaten it without getting hit once. I used like 6 E tanks on my first try though (and then got my ass handed to me by Wily at the end of the next level, so I had to go back to my previous save, stock up on everything, and try again :().

The PS3 demo is 65 meg lol

I remember reading the maker of Braid say that XBL makes a developer put a bunch of crap data along with the game data. iirc he said this limited what they could offer with Braid.

At least thats the way i remember it...

I'm working on getting the Invincible challenge right now. I've beaten the 8 stages so far; next step is the Wily levels. Shouldn't be too hard as I've already beaten the Wily stages without dying before (although after having died while playing through the robot master levels).
