Mega Man 9!!!

I'm not playing this crap. I don't have anything better to do so I prefer a game to take at least 40 hours to beat and have at least a combined 20 hours of pre-rendered cut scenes.

I might check this out.

I love Mega Man and This Mega Man is no Different!!! Totally Awesome!!!

I have only made it to Magma Man and Jewel Man... Neither of which I have beat. :(

I can fly thru MM2 in like 30 minutes.... I cant even make it to all the bosses in MM9!

I've beaten Galaxy Man and Splash Woman so far. I've tried Magma Man, Tornado Man, Hornet Man, and Jewel Man's levels but haven't been able to actually get to the end yet. I can beat MM2 in about half an hour too, but that's because I've done it a couple of hundred times before...
 
I beat Galaxy Man just now.... Finally. Made it to splash woman.... got owned...

I hear ya'. Those NES controllers were so durable back in the days! All I have to say is I'm glad my wii mote as a wrist strap!


My wife thought I was crazy last night. I was cussing and swearing at MM9, and when I was finished play I said I haven't had that much fun with a game in a while! I love the throwback to the NES, but too bad they couldn't go SNES quality. Fantastic game, though!
 
Tornado Man's level is brutal. I finally managed to get through all the bosses, so now I just have to beat the Wily levels.
 
I'm actually getting kind of excited about it. The original Mega Man series for NES was my favorite game series. When it makes it to XB360 I might have pick it up, it will bring back memories of my "Golden Years" of gaming.:D

Edit: By the way, that Mega Man music collection is awesome!
 
The XBLA release date is the 1st of October for all those Xbox owners who don't have Wiis :).
 
This is probably one of the best NES games I have ever played lol.

Does anyone think that they will release another game like this? MM10? or something? Since this obviously was successful.
 
Damn.. It's out on the PS3, but I want the 360 version for the achievements. Waiting is so hard :(
 
I noticed it was on the PSN when I purchased Wipeout, so those with PS3s that want it.. go get em.

I bought the PS3 version and this game has its own achivements type stuff in game.

I thought this auto saves, so I returned to title screen and I cant find a save data.
Do you need to manually save? I just beat 7 Robotmasters...
 
You do need to manually save. After every Robot Master you beat or every time you get a game over, you're given the option to save your game.
 
downloaded it as soon as it launched, been playing it ever since. awesome game, damn hard!

friggin spikes are plotted out nicely...
 
Is it just me or was Megaman 2 like the freakin hardest game ever? When I think of megaman all I remember is bumping into spikes and exploding.

But yeah, very cool game. It was one of the more memorable 8-bit series. Great music and production for the times.

Megaman 2 is actually the easiest game in the series for me, but that's probably because I've played through it a ridiculous number of times. Megaman 1 is definitely harder though (although 9 takes the cake).
 
Tried the PS3 demo, i felt like throwing the controller at my friends 55" tv (i love how on the games description it sayssupports 1080p!!, although i was a fan of the original im not paying £6.99 for this, not when psone classics are £3.49 or majorly jazzed up arcade classics are the same price

Interesting.... You're comparing a brand new game with a re-release of old titles. You do know that 8-bit titles are pretty hard to develop nowdays? Developers are used to having a lot of crafting power, but here they had to make a great game with 8-bit limitations. I'm not saying that you should pay 7 quid for it, but don't think that it's just another rehash.
 
There's no way I hate myself enough to play this game. Anyone who likes this game does purely for nostalgia purposes and not because the game actually stands alone as a good game.
 
Either my skills are rusty or this game is harder than the old ones. When I was like 10-12 I won Mega Man 1-3 with #1 being the only really hard one that I remember specifically. I think I won #2 in a weekend. With this one, I gave up on the demo level in like 10 minutes.

No, you're completely wrong. MM9 is actually better than most of the classic games. It's very difficult, but that's because of clever level design and not because of cheap obstacles. It may be nostalgic, but it's also a top-class game and worth every penny I paid for it (and saying that $10 is too much for this game is just ridiculous).
 
This is nuts. By far the hardest mega man i have ever played.

I can only beat 3 bosses. Its like by the time I get to them, I only have 1 life left and die and get a game over.

I can KILL 1-8

Sigh :( What a great game. Hopefully MM10 will be this good as well :)!!

I finally finished the game last night, after my second try through Wily's castle. The first time I ran out of E tanks and got owned :(.
 
Wednesday the 1st is the release date on the Xbox. Is a great game, get it for at least one system.

I don't know, the d-pad kinda sucks (to say the least) on the 360 controller.

I really dislike the 360's d-pad. Other than that, its a fine controller, but if you are going to be playing a 2d side scroller, that means the clumsy unresponsive d-pad.

I have a 360 controller hooked up to my pc and it pissed me off when I was playing bionic commando rearmed and I had to navigate through the crappy map system in a diagonal turn.

I always ended up going the wrong way running into the enemy trucks or it didn't respond at all.
