I have been using Windows Media Player for a long time, is there any other media players out there? what is foobar? I downloaded iTunes but so far I am not to impressed so I would like to play with some others. any ideas, Thanks
 
There is always WinAmp if you want to organize your music and some moives.

Also VLC is good for just basic movie and music playing.
 
Get the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack, comes with Media Player Classic, Quicktime Alternative, Realplayer Alternative, and codecs to play anything else. It rocks.

For music, I use Winamp, but only because I'm too lazy to familiarize myself with other programs and use them.

 
What are you looking to play? I use MPC for video and musikcube for music. Before I used musikcube I used foobar2000 which is a great little program. I just prefer the media library in musikcube and everything.
