As most have heard by now, MBM has ceased to be.

However, our need for reliable readouts of our volatages and temperatures, has not. This thread will serve as a collection of the various tools that you think will be a good replacement for MBM. (mods: sticky?)

Post what program you nominate, and why you chose them.
 
wow thats...really goddamn lame

MBM was by far the best, easiest, and fastest program out there, not to mention that it integrated with lots of things I use (crystalcontrol, samurize). crap.
 
Speedfan is the only one that I can think of that has any real value.

Personally I always prefered MBM due to its easy integration with other programs and simple interface. Oh well...
 
Here's another vote for Speedfan. It is a truly remarkable little program.

AsusProbe has a lot of the stuff that MBM5 has, but it seems slower than MBM5. That's why I switched to MBM5. And not everyone can use it, just us Asus users. ;)

I've heard good things about Speedfan, so I'll look into getting that tonight. I use Samurize, and made it show all system temps (CPU diode, socket, mobo, HDD), CPU usage, etc. Not sure what they're going to do for talking to the mobo. They might actually have to do it themselves now, which means testing every mobo, etc. :(
 
SpeedFan gets my vote as well. May I suggest we drop the author a couple of bucks if we find it useful? This way we can try to keep him highly motivated... :)

An alternative to Speedfan is hMonitor, but it is not free.

With new chipsets, motherboards, revisions and other things, it will be outdated before too long for any newer hardware. That is the crux of the matter. Even though it will work fine on older hardware, people will need something new to work with their newer hardware.
