My FSB will not go past ~440 with my Q9550 E0.

So I know this has been an issue for a while, but I was wondering if it has been resolved. I am currently running the Rampage Formula Bios 0803 and I heard from somewhere that setting the CPU Skew Control to 100ps and NB Skew Control to Normal is supposed to eliminate the wall issue, however it has not worked.

Does anyone have a Maximus Formula x38 with a 45nm quad that is able to get past the wall? I don't want to give up until I absolutely know that you can't.

I am currently running 3.7ghz at 435x8.5 with 1.23 volts, so I know this chip can go way higher. Max temp at this setting is 61c with Orthos maximum setting. Thanks!

My DFI MB wasn't to hard to get it to 4GHZ. Have booted into 4.5 GHZ but need more work.

Just keep tweaking till you figure it out. That is what I did. Also be careful with the juice. Keep it safe. Temps low. Need a good air cooler like Zalman 9700 LED.

its a well known cooler.. but isnt really that great.. far better ones out there for cheaper..

OCZ Vendetta 2. Craps on the Zalman 9700. I just need to try it on my UD3P i guess.

The mounting system of the vendetta 2 looks cheap. Zalman 9700 is a monster.

I run the vendetta 2 with a rear mounting bracket which makes it one of the best mounting systems of any cooler. It's a universal adapter that I believe all HDT type coolers can use.

Try a cooler like the megahalems, i c ouldnt get over 3.6-3.7 stable with my zalman 9700, now im at 4.0 without much of a sweat, lowered my temperature 10C

the 9700 was pretty good years ago, now it's fairly dated.

The Zalman 9700 LED though dated still works great.

I'm close to 4.5 GHZ on Q9500 E0 for 3dMark06.

Pass Intel extreme burn test@ 4GHZ.

It's a good cooler. Contruction wise it is top quality from the copper materials to heavy duty mounting bracket and the mirror like finish of the heat sink.

Just look at all the great reviews over at Newegg.

It's a great heat sink.

Back on topic...anyone? It seems that this motherboard and a few other X38's have this issue, however others don't. For now i've put my e8500 back in and will test the quad on my UD3P to confirm its a motherboard issue. If not, I guess I can't really complain about 3.7 at 1.24v :)

4.0 at 1.29 and 4.2 at 1.36. It's definitely the board. Has anyone ever properly resolved this issue?
