Max A64 Winchester VCore/Temps? (3000+)

Title says it all.

The main this is that load temp stays under 60 right? Recently got an A8V and 3000+... =)

Also you guys use ASUS Probe to check temps? Dotn think MBM5 had an option for the A8V last time i checked.

Well I've got the Asus A8v with a 3500+ Winchester. Running it at 11 x 220 for a total of 2420, on the stock hs/f that comes with the boxed processor. I'm running it on stock voltages and the idle temp is usually around 27c and load never goes over 38c no matter how long and hard I run it.

I'm using the ASUS Probe, and its pretty accurate from what I can see so far.
 
Don't go over 1.65v w/ any air cooler.
I wouldn't expect to see you hit any higher than 2.6 or so on air completely stable.
I did it with a 3000+ winnie on the neo2.

2000, what temps do you see at 1.65? Or what do u run it at if not 1.65?

And whats a good threshold temp? Thx again
 
I was seeing a max temp at 1.65v on my wini 3200+ @ 2630 100% stable of 50 in prime and 56 in the program provided in the link below with a koolance exos al, but my thermal paste isn't even closed to being cured yet. k8n neo 2 platinum.

little change. the thermal paste has appeared to set. Idle 31 load 45 ambient 75

With air i never really got it above 55 C or so w/ 32M SuperPI. I put the same chip under water and ever got above 45 C or so @ 2.7 w/ about 1.600'ish voltage. I just wouldn't push it above 1.6 - 1.65 w/ air (being nicely conservative). For the threshold, i would'nt want to see 60 C on my chip. Just for reference, i have a 3200+ now that can get to 2.8 on water, with about 1.55v....i've tested 3 90nm chips myself and they all clocked to about 2.7'ish under water. The winnie cores are all about the same.
 
People don't always list their ambient (or room) temps and this can be the difference between different CPU temps in many cases... My stock temps at idle were around 37C and load around 44C. OC'd to 2.3GHz my idle temps are anywhere near 42-45C and load anywhere from 46-49C. It almost never spikes to 50C from what I've seen of my stress tests (with the video card running rthdribl and Prime plus an MP3 running).

Case temp is usually at 26-29C as read by the mobo which is pretty close to my room temp I'd guess... Super Lanboy with two 120mm fans. Weather here is 73-82F (23-27C, doesn't really go into the low 70s until night/early morning; no AC here, tropical island, high humidity, concrete walls so maybe even a lil' hotter inside the house).
 
Hmm before i could get 270 even on 1.575 but now it seems to be working at 270+. The thing is HTT Mult was 3 but now i just left it at 4.

So even though its above 1000 now its working? Is there some "minimum HTT" or something? Cuz i read u were supposed to keep it under 1000?

Who knows maybe its just cooler right now in the room or something crazy. Damn computers... =)

Actually, conventional wisdom in the A64 world is that you should keep the HT under 1,000 as once it goes over the boards and proc get real shaky... Alas, I've heard of more than a handful of people that have experienced the same thing you have (even on different boards, even on VIA boards) where they were more stable at over 1,000.

It's actually just about the only thing I haven't tried on my end in an effort to get to 2.4GHz and I'm gonna give it a try tonight (the only other thing left to try is stock voltage, I've tried 1.5-1.65 already and every other possible setting).
