I was wondering if you guys could make any changes to what I have so far...

Memory: OCZ Reaper HPC Edition 2GB 51.99
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 164.99
Mobo: DFI LP JR P45-T2RS 149.99
PSU: CORSAIR CMPSU-450VX 69.99
GPU: ASUS EAH4850/HTDI/512M Radeon HD 4850 139.99(Open box)
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Green WD10EACS 1TB 129.99
Case: Lian Li PC-v350B 119.99

Total: 826.93 reason for the prices is Im trying to keep it between 700 and 900 bucks. Any changes to what I have I would like to hear. Thanks in advance
 
If you do not plan on doing crossfire, you can choose another board and save a few dollars, like an Asus P5Q-EM, the main advantage of the LP-JR is the Crossfire ability in my opinion.

The WD Caviar is noisy, be prepared for that, but it's decently quick and I have used mine for 3 months now with no problems.

The E8400 is a good processor you should be happy with that.
 
The WD green-drive is almost dead silent while the Barracuda sounds like a freighttrain and vibrates as much as one too. And it generates more heat as well...
If you want a good combo of speed and noise while keeping vibrations from the disk in check, go for a 640GB WD Blue.
 
Tall ram is generally a bad idea for SFFs since the hidden meaning behind SFF is "limited HSF compatibility", and many HSFs intrude into other areas like the ram.. I would get some other HD as your primary OS drive and a modular PSU. Higher rated PSU too if you're intending on Crossfiring.

I've noticed the opposide from my 1TB drive.

It makes a lot of noise in seek/write situations. My 320GB Caviars are very quiet though.
 
ok, made some changes according to your guys advice. Thanks. Hows this look? I changed the mobo because I probably wont run crossfire.

Change the psu to a corsair 520 watt one, the cables are skinny. And why not buy a 4850 from someone on the forum?
 
139.99 is pretty good, and if he buys as a set then he saves on shipping as well as getting his system in one package (assuming same warehouse). Certainly not worth the hassle for a face to face transaction that might save you a few bucks. I'm very partial to Silverstone because their 100% modular (Strider series) PSU is absolutely perfect to work with; the Corsair 520HX and 620HX are typical PSUs with 3 permanent cables that just wasn't modular enough for my cabling OCD.

Holy shit, 99.99 only? See you reverted back to the 1TB drive, srsly that green drive is a storage drive, not an OS drive.
 
That's how much I bought my Strider for, but it was on some serious sale at the time like $30 off or something.
 
: \ Picked it up when it first came out on the Egg for $130 I think. Eh well. Can't beat 700w, 4 6pin PCIEs, 1 8pin PCIE (more available for $8 a piece I was told by the rep) and pure modular sweetness for that price.
 
There's also the ASUS P5K-VM mobo thats very good and usually goes for a little over $100. I've seen it as low as $95 at times during sales. Not sure if it has all the features you want but its a good alternative choice. It'll even overclock very nicely if you are into that sort of thing. Shop around though. Last I looked New Egg had run out of them.
