Hello gentlemen; I recently bought a DFI 790GX-M3H5 for a new build.


First board arrived DOA.
Second board arrived DOA.


I'm going to RMA the third and sell it. I'm not dealing with DFI's bullshit anymore.

In the meantime, do any of you know of any mATX boards that support DDR3? no sense ebay'ing my RAM as well. I've been buying from newegg for the last six years, but they only carry one type of mATX AM3 board, and it's a DFI.

After seeing your post did a little "research" and sadly it looks like the DFI is the only "real" AM3 mATX mobo. Jetway supposedly has one that has slots for both DDR2 & 3 but don't think that is what ya want! :(
 
I would go with that Jetway board. I would trust them over DFI anything. I swear, DFI must use retarded slave children to build their boards.
 
Are you sure it's the board? If 3 boards are all DOA, then I'd think something else would be the problem.
 
If only the pci-e x16 slot wasn't at x4 that J&W board would be great.

I'm thinking the best bet for AM3 small form factor motherboards is the 785 chipset coming out around September. I've my fingers crossed for a mini-itx on this chipset.
 
You could always take this opportunity to switch to Intel! X58 mATX boards are impressively featured. I've been an unshakable AMD user since the first Slot-A Athlons hit 1 GHz, but Core i7 and a brand new chipset with DDR3 called me to the dark side.

Yeah, a mATX i7 is heavily tempting, though.

You can also go 1156, there is an asus board (uATX) for that too, though its expensive.
