Marvel vs Capcom 2 is coming?

2 or 3? Hopefully both, 2 for Live/PSN and 3 using the new SF4 engine.

This is pretty old news, number 2 for Live and PSN.

I'm hoping they'll give it an HD Remix style graphical overhaul but I shall not hold my breath :D

3 is on the cards aswell from what I've read. I think it'd be pretty cool in the SF4 engine, altho there is a hell of a lot going on I'm not sure about the camera panning all over the place wouldn't be a good idea lol

I'm not really a fan of this series, but a version on the SF4 engine would probably be a disaster. I don't think it could handle all of the chaos this series needs. Plus, like TB mentions, all of the weird panning around and close-ups probably wouldn't be well served in gameplay. It might look more comic-like, but I just don't think this would work as well.

They could still use the engine and tweak the camera though. It would need to be zoomed out a bit and be more static to handle all the chaos that this series provides, but I think it would work. Also I guess this means I need to get started on an arcade stick, I've been holding off on SF4 until I get one, but I wouldn't be able to resist MVC2, SF4 and Tekken in fall.

Can't see the site from work, any release date for 2?

All it shows right now is a countdown clock with 9 hours 25 minutes left and a big 2 in the background. I'm hoping it will be an announcement that it's available this week since it's already been sent to the ESRB... but at the very least we should get an announcement of a release date today.

Marvel vs Capcom is ok but Xmen vs Street Fighter is far better.

I still play Xmen vs street fighter on my sega Saturn they need another one.

Alright, I finally got to see the site. How does this relate to MvC exactly? tu4ar?

*edit* NVM!

Pretty sweet news, nice to see DJ Qbert with remix duties on the theme song. I guess I need to order some parts before they all sell out again.

all i hope is that this version sells massively across both platforms... edit: to goad Capcom into making part 3 :)

i dont have PS3 or 360, but I did buy a dreamcast *just* for MvC 2 back in the day....

If MvC 3 *ever* comes out, i will buy the first console that gets it instantly...

^^I'd recommend getting a Xbox!!!

naaah, i still play the dreamcast original all the time with the same great people i've been playing it with for almost the whole past decade, and I live close enough to chinatown fair, to play enough MvC 2 vs a pro whenever i want :)

*if* MvC 3 comes out, it will be a game insta buy + console insta buy for me.... i got my Dreamcast *just* for MvC2.....

Well, now that it's confirmed this will be a definite buy for me the second it's released.

Not me, demos of fighting games never do much for me.

I'm going to have to buy either a fightpad or a stick for this game, the 360 controller will NOT do!

haha more "value" for my recently purchased TE stick. I'm guessing the control scheme is still that peculiar 4 button thing though (L and M same button -_-).

I'm sure it will be. That threw me way off too when I first played the game. Never got the combos down nearly to the same level that I did for the first MvsC.

This gives me even more reason to purchase a TE Stick. The void left in my life with the death of arcades is starting to be somewhat filled.

Looking forward to this one, though I admit I wish they'd bring it new characters as well.

I had about 5-6 characters left to get when I sold mine last year. I felt like it was horrible way to get characters (leave system on overnight and hope for enough "points" to buy new ones).

I believe all the characters come pre-unlocked to avoid that problem.

Hells yes. I sold my Dreamcast months ago and I ebayed Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Power Stone 2 for around 110 dollars on ebay. Power Stone 2 got me 60 and MVC 2 got me 50. The resale value on MVC 2 is toast now!
