I'd love if it the Japanese VAs were the only voice option but I'm guessing some English version will be added for release.

From the title to the designs it's a very deliberately Japanese take on this (at Marvel's urging), so as a fan of Japanese VAs it'd be nice for more to experience something that wasn't just dubbed as a game.

There are also many English dubs of Japanese games that don't hit the same mark as the Japanese voiced versions.

I'm not fooling myself though, I doubt Sony and Marvel would do this.

Well, I still don't get what's wrong with having both to choose from?
 
Not a Mahvel fan or ARC fighting game fan, but I think this looks great. The amount of care they're putting into the characters and animations looks almost unprecedented. I probably won't buy it, but I can at least see myself enjoying streams of it, a la Guilty Gear Strive.

The trailer nor behind the scenes didn't indicate any upcoming English dub, nor has anything else confirmed this, so my comment wasn't coming from a PoV of restricting announced options as but from the PoV of I would have found it interesting if that was the only VA, in keeping with the Japanese styling.
 
lol yup. their last one, i think, guilty gear strive has 37 dlcs...

why are they only speaking Japanese?...is that the style of fighting games?...seems strange that Captain America and Iron Man are only speaking Japanese

The game is a year away. They probably haven't recorded and mixed a lot of other Voicework, yet.

However, they may also only ship with Japanese VO. As the game is meant to be very Japanese in style and presentation. We'll see, I guess.

Personally, I don't really care.


**and no, its not "the style" of fighting games. Tekken for example, voices each character based on their native language. So they have voice actors from many different countries. But, that means you also are always seeing subtitles. Except for characters whom speak in a language which is the same as your system language.
 
I can't help but to be excited for this one. My DC and Marvel lore roots run deep into my childhood. If this game is as good as Marvel vs Capcom I'm going to love it.
 
Ok everyone, pick a team of 4 characters you would like to see in the game!


I have always loved Carnage. I still have a big ~13 inch Carnage figure from 1994. I would love to see a F%!%#$ crazy looking Carnage from Arc System Work's artists.

Shang-Chi. I'm actually not like a long time fan or something. But, he would be a good option for a more martial-arts focused character with a somewhat more "classic" fighting game moveset (and maybe pay some Capcom/Street Fighter tribute, with part of his moveset. Not TOO much, though.). But also, lots of potential with his rings for some extra superhero sauce.

Red Sonja. I love Swords and Sorcery. But, I also see this character as a bit of a clean-slate. And it could be a chance For Arc to make her look and play somewhat like a Guilty Gear character. Which I think would be a super rad interpretation of this character.

Apocalypse. As a kid, I never loved to hate any marvel villain more, besides Carnage. And I think this would be a good opportunity for Arc's artists to go wild with their imagination.


bonus points: Of course Wolverine will be in this game RIGHT. So yeah, lets have a Weapon X costume ;)

I traded my PS5 in at Gamestop in Spring 2024, during a trade-in promo for extra money.

I'm watching Max's stream. The game is gorgeous. And I like that its a little slower speed.

Justin is goated but I enjoy maxes content way more. This game looks so damn fun and better than SF me thinks.

Don't get me wrong, Max is an important, and very watchable guy. Buuuuuut, he wasn't pushing much out of the combat system, here.

Justin was really working storm, as basically a solo character. And that was cool to see. She seems like a really good main character.

But, the TNS tournament and FGC pro SonicFox, exposed some of the more intricate possibilities of the tag/assist system. And I think that's where the potatoes are at, for this game. its easy to pickup. But, encountering player like that, will put casuals in the deep section, fast! Max shows a little bit of footage from the tourney, somewhere in the video Pendragon linked.

The devs uploaded a bunch of new footage to Max, while he was live on stream, 1 night ago. I time stamped when he starts watching it:

Before he got the footage, he talked a bunch about a private play test he recently got to do, of the latest build. And he is a lot happier with the game. His editors cut a video of when he talks about that, with some of the footage above, playing in the background. He didn't have the footage yet, when he was actually making those comments. So it doesn't have anything directly to do with what's happening on screen in the game:
