make a cut off switch

hi all
i have a computer in my room thats lit up like christmas tree and need it to run all night so i want to make a switch it is all power via the 4 pin ide hd power connector if cut red and yellow for the switch is that all i need or should the ground be cut as well just dont want to fry or short anything ?

Wait, what do you want make a cut off switch for exactly? Your post doesn't make that much sense.
 
Are the lights part of your fans or some cathode lights or what?
 
I'll assume you have some front mounted LEDs or something along those lines..I had something similar on my old case and it drove me nuts at night too. If you toss a switch into the +5v or +12v to the lights you should be fine.
 
yeah they were front lights that went up both sides of case and changed colour and it had two tri colour fans in side i ended up conecting them all together and buying a switch and power extension cable wich i soldered switch into so no parts are damaged. thank you all
