...or somewhere in the NCR lol.
*Wonder how many requests they got to hack themselves.*
I wonder if any of these groups have popped up on FBI/NSA/CIA radars lol.
You guys keep talking about the victims here being blameless because they shouldn't have to invent a better lock, but take a bank analogy:
Do you think it's ok if a bank stores all of your money in a wooden shed with a simple lock? Wouldn't you demand as much security for your money as possible?
It seems to me that we're indirectly benefiting from these attacks by (hopefully) forcing these companies to take security a little bit more seriously.
from what I know, LulzSec uses old and very simple methods for hacking. DDoS is probably the simplest since LOIC is just a script kiddie kind of tool, however LulzSec has been known to do more. SQL injections are obviously the next line of simplistic offense.
Of course, most hacking is done through phishing and spear-phishing so yeah...
btw, here's a link to back plenty of what I've just said in case you don't believe me:

"lulz" aside, these guys are making themselves out to be digital terrorists. I personally don't feel my information is secure if they're soliciting their efforts.
Only a matter of time before the authorities catch up with them...I give them a month.
what about LulzSec wins hacking competition, refuses $10k award
Was the hacking competition just an SQL injection or something else easy? If so, I need to start getting into these competitions![]()
like you would spot a exploit. Its not sql injection. Its SQL INJECTION
I moved to Detroit I would be stupid not to buy the best security I could unless of course the stuff I was securing was of no importance to me and I could careless if anyone took it and sold it
(Worst/Best). Hackers. Ever.LOL. I enjoy watching the newbs opine on security.
As has been stated by others: getting taken down by DDOS != bad security. Even rejecting connections takes bandwidth.
These guys are getting tiresome. Everytime I hear someone talk about or for these assklownz I visualize Comic Book Guy saying it and it just fits.
Wonder if they can take down the Great Firewall
"Vandals" is the strongest word that can reasonably used to describe anything they've done so far. "Terrorist" is laughable, unless not being able to log in to LoL is considered terrifying these days. Why are we tossing the term terrorist around like we have the word Nazi? Are we that far removed from 9/11 that it's kosher to reference people that do stuff you don't like as terrorists?

Who would be stupid enough to call this number? You see that van outside? Yeah, you called the number didn't you?
"Douchebags" more like it.
It makes me think these people are paid to do this by the government to really motivate more laws to get pushed through to further erode our rights. Never have hackers been so out in the open flaunting people like this. Smart individuals know to keep their heads low to decrease risk of being caught.
I wonder this as well. I'm also curious as to whether or not our government (US) will begin by recruiting cyber "armies" etc. to combat cyber threats! :S
Interesting points. I don't know if that's the best idea though. I've known a lot of hackers, and they're not exactly the most loyal types where these sorts of things are concerned.
what makes you think they are not the same?
not one arrest of lulzsec, but plenty of anons have been caught.
hmmm............ hmmm............
