I am building a new system for my parents. They just surf the web, watch movies and play Casino-type games. They need it as cheap as possible but still want a reliable system.

Motherboard GIGABYTE GA-P31-S3G LGA 775 Intel P31 ATX Intel Motherboard $64.99
Processor Intel Pentium E2180 Allendale 2.0GHz 1MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor $69.99
Memory G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) $44.99
Chasis & PSU Antec NSK 4480 Mid Tower Case $54.99
DVD Burner LITE-ON Black 16X DVD-ROM 52X CD-R 32X CD-RW 52X CD-ROM SATA Combo $22.99
Hard Drive Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST380815AS 80GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive $39.99
Video Card MSI NX7300LE-TD128EH GeForce 7300LE 128MB 64-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16 Video Card $25.99

TOTAL $323.93

Any critiques? Thanks.

my only critique is that for that price you can just buy an emachines or HP that comes with case, OS, speakers and sometimes monitors as well.

but if you're looking for experience on building a PC then your setup looks about right.

Well, they do have a new Dell monitor, a speaker system and the OS so it's not necessary.

I know I can get a cheap system for $400 a Wal-mart but then they have to deal with 1-800-INDIA for support.

You're better off going AMD

GIGABYTE GA-MA78GM-S2H AMD 780G - $84 + $8.45 Shipping (Newegg Link)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ 2.4GHz Brisbane + G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) combo deal - $96.98 (See last combo on the page)
Antec NSK 4480 - $54.99
Samsung SH-S203B - $26.99 + $5.99 Shipping
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3250410AS 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA - $59.99

Total: $337.39

Much better mobo gives you eSata, Firewire, 8 channel audio, optical SPDIF, and HDMI output. 4 DIMM Slots for future memory upgrades. Onboard graphics provides full acceleration for HD movies unlike that 7300LE . CPU is just as fast as E2180. Top notch DVD burner and 250GB vs 80GB HD.

I had a comment in here, but I got rid of it because I'm too lazy to explain myself, sorry. :) I agree with Toaster.
