Hello, once again I turn to this great community for some advice which I greatly appreciate :)

So I am trying to build a nice looking yet very affordable pc for my uncle so I came up with this build after few days of looking and need to know if its decent and just to be sure, as I am far from pro at building rigs.

So this build is purely for Internet, word, media stuff... So no gaming in mind. :)

I wondering if DVD roms are still a standard must since I dont really use mine.

It totals at around 300euro

Would love to hear what you think and advice appreciated.

My internet must suck, cuz those pages aren't loading for me. Could you list out the parts please?

HDD stock has been affected by the floods in thailand, so it's a worldwide problem. :(

Also, go through the sticky questions and answer any you haven't already answered, though I think you got the most important ones.

enginurd has the right idea although right off the bat I see a few problems with that build:

1) Read-only DVD-ROM drives are now no longer a good value at all: They cost nearly as much money as DVD burners. It's not that the read-only optical drives have increased in price; it's that the DVD burners have come down significantly in price.

2) You have the right idea in going low-end for an Internet-only build. However, you are doing it the wrong way, with an outdated, nearly EOL platform that might not be able to support any future versions of Windows at all.

See if you can find an AMD Athlon II CPU and a socket AM3 or AM3+ combo instead.
