Hi all!

So i have two questions:

1) I have a setup that im really happy with, runs smooth (5 years now! cant believe it), but some of the newest synths are getting quite crazy in terms of CPU usage. sometimes a single instance of a VST can use 40% of CPU.. basically, i'd like to nudge up the speed, without spending money if possible.

someone once told me that it was a really bad idea to overclock a computer that is mostly used for audio work, but i never understood why. should i not do that? not looking for a super hot OC, maybe up to 3.6GHz?

heres the details:
i7-920 2.66 GHz
ASUS P6T
and this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103055) CPU fan

2) Storage setup is a complete mystery to me.. I dont know what RAIDs are and how they work. ive always just plopped new drives in and they worked great from what i can tell. now im looking to add another another drive, but a big one, 3-4 TB. is it possible? what is all this UEFI business? will it work on a P6T? i know the P6T runs at 3 GB/s and that drives are backward compatible, so that wont be a problem, right?

sorry for the n00bisms! help!
