I am looking for a power suppy in the 500w to 600w range.

I currently have an Orion 485w that doesn't feel like its giving out enough power and is causing my computer to slow down.

I also have an ATI Radeon HD 5750 Video Card, which in my opinion is the source of the power sucking.

So basically Power Supply in the 500 to 600 range. Good power supply for a good price. I will not spend $500 on a power supply for my machine.

I am tired at the time of this posting. I have a high chance of misspelings and I weill stop typing now,

Here is a good price/performance PSU. Antec EA-650. I have one in my system right now. It has 3 rails with one having 25 amps and the other two having 22 amps. That puts its max output around 820 watts. Most cheaper brands would label this an 800watt PSU. I used to run an overclocked PII 940 quad core with 2 GTX 260's in sli off of one of these. Never a hiccup.

Make sure you enter the Promo Code : ANTHP10

That will take an additional $7.50 off the price, bringing it to $68 shipping included. You also can then get a $15 mail in rebate, bringing the cost to $53.

You won't find any other brand PSU this powerful for $50.

Whoa so many things wrong with that statement.

First of all, you NEVER add up the rails like that. That is not how PSUs are rated. For further clarification, read this PSU FAQ:

Second, that PSU only has 45A on the +12V rail total as shown on the PSU label.

Anyway, don't go with the Earthwatts: You can get a better quality PSU for about the same price:
$65 - Antec NEO ECO 520C 520W PSU

If you buy the PSU before or on 6/20. use promo code "bigsave20" to bring the PSU down to $52 shipped. No rebate BS and you get a higher quality PSU. Yes the 520C only has 40A on the +12V rail but still should be enough power for your current setup.

However if you've had good luck with MIRs so far and want to do it, then go for the EA650.

I know what you are saying, I know that how much power the rails can push is determined by how much they can be supplied. FYI, they state 45 amps. The problem with your conclusion being that the rails are supplied by two S60SC6M's (each can supply "up to" 60amps) which can actually provide the power needed to run all 3 rails at max. There is no regulator restricting them to 45amps.

Running full tilt you could breach the 800 watt barrier with this PSU, I sure as hell wouldn't want to run an 800 watt load on it for more than a minute or two. But that doesn't stop cheap PSU manufacturers all over from labeling their PSU's in exactly this manner. Which is why I pointed it out.

newegg is having some really good sales on PSU's right now.. I picked up a Corsair 650TX for $79 with FS yesterday. I had one in my last rig and it powered two GTX260's no problem.

Take that PSU back to where you got it from. The entire Raidmax Hybrid series of PSUs are really shitty, especially for the prices that they sell for! They are actually manufactured by Huntkey, a manufacturer that has had one of the worse reputations of all of the PSU manufacturers. That "630W" unit cannot deliver anywhere near 630W under realistic conditions - in fact, it barely passes muster as a 400W PSU.

In other words, you paid too much money for what is effectively a mediocre 400W PSU.

Speaking of your old "Orion" PSU, it too is really shitty. It is an HEC PSU - and HEC is also one of the poorer manufacturers in terms of PSU quality. That "485W" unit barely passed muster as a 300W PSU even when it was new.

P.S. I thought I'd put this warning out there because you have completely ignored our PSU suggestions (the ones with good performance and reliability at not-so-high prices). Instead, you picked one that's way overpriced for such bottom-level performance and below-average reliability.

Not sure why the OP bothered to create this thread when they ignored all suggestions and went ahead and picked the worst psu possible. Not only is it bad it's a ripoff.

Why should the OP go with PSUs more than double the price when the NeoEco is also build by Seasonic? ;) It has enough power for sure for the system. I've never had anything but bad luck with Antec PSU's. Love your cases, though. I was just trying to give the guy some options.

It has been three full days since the OP has even visited the forums, and he has not even looked in here since then. That person is typical of those who just posts one or two things, ignore all of the suggestions and went out and bought one of the poorest values in the said product never to return to the forums.
