Hello,

In the near future, It will be time for an upgrade, I want to get liquid cooling in my new PC.

Putting it together shouldn't be too hard, I am just wondering what a good combo of parts would be. I don't really want to get an extreme high end liquid cooler, I just want to get my feet wet with a first time liquid cooling rig. I just want CPU cooling, not the whole shabang.

I will want to use my CPU from my current computer which is a C2D E6300 1.86 Ghz. I will also want to overclock, nothing huge but at least 3.0 Ghz.

Also, What is a good overclocking motherboard that is fairly cheap? I also want SLI as an option if I ever want to go for it.

Also, What is a liquid cooling friendly case? I like the Antec 900.

Thanks!

If I were you (and I sort of am) I would buy just about any full tower case. I prefer Lian-Li although they are typically hard to find for cheap. I purchased the Gigabyte 3D Galaxy II from a forum member and am just doing CPU cooling and it was easy and I love it.

I would either buy a kit used from a forum member, or buy used parts from a forum member. It sounds like there are a lot of good waterblocks and cooling comes down to a reasonably good radiator/fan combo

Edit: I don't have a motherboard recommendation. I could give non-SLI suggestions, such as the DS3 or the P5B-Deluxe (I have used both)

Drop down into the watercooling forum, lots of advice on how to spend a big pile of money down there ;) Look through the "show your rig" sticky for case ideas. First time, bigger is better for a case.

If you wanna go low rent, consider the kit in my sig, it does fine and the cost is reasonable, about $150 for a LOT of stuff. otherwise plan on spending $200 up.

My crappy main rig.

Secondary machine is old school WC setup.

Sorry Gen.Ben for taking this kind of off topic....Bill, how did you mount the bolts securely to your rad? I'll be putting a 320 on top of mine, and have been looking at a few different ways, but the pics aren't close enough for me to get a good look.

Thanks
