Looking for a very good headset

I want a very nice headset, something that can drown out all the noise arround me, and have awesome sound quality.. I dunno what my limit is, just give me some options. I was looking at the sennheiser pc150s, but I don;t know how good the sound cancelling is on it. I also want something comfy, after using sony headphones at night, I'll never go near them again. My ears turned bright red after 30 minutes of use with those. So are the pc150s good? Or should I look somewhere other than newegg?
 
Get the Bose Triport's. There's no words on how clear the quality is and how COMFORTABLE they are. I could wear them for 12+ hours at a time without my ears getting red or discomfort (Not that I do.) Got mine for $110.00 shipped, brand new off eBay. One hell of a deal.. I think they're still going for that price, perhaps more.

Just be sure to get the Grey and not the gay blue.. One of the best headphones I've ever owned. If your serious about noise cancellation, get the Bose QuietComfort II.

Oh...my...god... You will get flamed for saying that, its just a matter of time...

Seriously, there are MUCH better closed cans out there for much less than the Bose crap. Bose cans are comfy, but the sound is definately far from being clear or detailed. You would have been ripped off paying $30 for them, when the Sennheiser HD 201 is better at around $20.

OP, you want something with a built in mic right?

Yes.. Yes they are. Bose is the #1 overpriced crap audio company, right next to Monster IMO.

I've never really listened to cans with built in mics, but there are plenty of people here that have. I have heard a lot of good about the Sennheiser PC150/PC160 though..
 
What about the sennheiser pc160SK things? where can I get those? Those things are the gaming edition of the pc150's I think, unless there is a better quality... I want the pc150s, but I want to know if there are any phones better then them

There are much better 'phones than those. They just don't come with a microphone attached. Would you be willing to buy a $100 pair of headphones and a $15 lapel mic?
 
DONT buy the triports.. talk about worst headphones for the price. There are so many other better options out there if you're in search of good quality sound.

Something that comes to mind that matches the comfort of the triports is the Sennheiser HD201. I got my friend to buy one and it is one comfy headphone. You'll need a separate microphone though.

Personally, I would go with a good headset with a separate mic just so I have a better range of choices.
 
If you want to pimp it up though and are ready to step up with the BIG BOYS, then you should opt to get the Sennheiser HD555 for around 169$ retail but only $110 on ebay.
 
I kind of want a built in mic... are the pc150 and 160sx the same thing with different logos, or is there a difference?
 
actually, now that I think about, seperated mic and headphones would be better... I won't have to bother with buying a splitter to plug the phones into my card... So yeah, suggest headphones with noise cancelling, and a mic with awesome quality, and something that will be able to pick up my voice about 1-1.5 feet away..

PC160 is the sucessor to PC150. It has bigger earcups, open-back type design, and perhaps other differences compared to PC150. PC150 sits on your ears instead around your ears, but I don't know if the PC160's bigger earcups changes this. I think the PC160SK is just a special SK-branded version of the PC160 with a special logo on it. SK is an online gaming clan. Look at www.sennheiserusa.com for specs on the PC150 and PC160. The PC160 is in stock at www.newegg.com.

The most cost effective way to get "noise cancelling" is via the pasive "earmuff" strategy. Look at a pair of Senn HD-280s.
 
Lol I was just looking at pc shopper guide (a magazine...) and the bose 'phones all got crappy scores...
