My AMD 2800+ is getting old....

I'm looking for something new that will run new FPS game. I don't have any budget but I expect something around 2000$. I'm looking to build something that you can say is good quality/price.

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming. old and new games
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
CPU, GPU, PSU, MOBO, RAM, HDD or SSD(both?), case, Monitor, optical drive and CPU aftermarket fan (if 950, heard its hot)
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
Mouse, keyboard, maybe my CRT monitor??? 17" LG bought in 2003
6) Will you be overclocking?
depends, I never tried but if it's a good option maybe later
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
I have that old 17", If i change I'm looking for something DEL with low ms latency, but im scared that 60ms is low for gaming, tell me!?!?

Now what I choose to start from is:

Intel I7-950 at 280$-310$ newegg.ca
Asus rampage 3 microATX at 240$ newegg.ca
Asus GTX 570 at 385$ local store

next is what i think is could be good you may change to what you think fits best my need:

Antec Mini P180 at 140$ on ebay
Antec truepower PSU but i dont know what size to get

And should I wait for Sandy Bridge or just buy when I7-950 price drop?

Wait for Sandy Bridge. The current Core i7 CPUs will not drop in price.

So please come back in the second week of January and ask again for build advice.
 
If i wait for Sandy bridge, would i expect the same price for the performance, considering it will be new? Btw this microATX asus board looks nice, can i expect something near from asus on the new CPU at that price? thanks a lot

Actually, at least in the U.S, early rumors shown that the Sandy Bridge CPUs Core i7 CPUs will be faster than current Nehalem Core i7 CPUs while being cheaper. So yes, at least the same price to performance but more than likely better.
