Hey guys due to a deployment and no internet I cannot play wow, or browse the web playing java games i am looking for fun sinigle player games that are long, i prefer fps, but will play an rpg here is a list of games i have waiting for me to download or install at home when i go there in less then a week

fallout 3
fall out new vegas
diablo 2 and lod
borderland
civ 5
sc2
i have pretty much all the main stream hl games (dont like the indie games or cheap ones)
dragon age
call of duty vanilla all the way to black ops minus world at war
medal of honor allied assault
moh2010
quake 4

i know i have alot more but i cant think of them off the top of my head.

try FEAR 1 and 2.

Titan Quest.

Oblivion, dragon age, mass effect 1 and 2, torchlight (3D version of D2... made by the same creators as D2)....

unreal 1 is prolly longer than most of those and there are plenty of texture mods to make it look pretty

Titan Quest is pretty long, but I dunno if you would like it. Diablo 2 you have and it is much better imo.

Gothic 3 is very large, but it is kind of an acquired taste. I really liked it myself, lots of combat, exploration, looting. It must have the 1.74 patch to be playable, or enjoyable anyway. If you take to the game it will keep you occupied for a long time.

I don't understand - have you already finished the titles you listed?

Are you looking for something new that has to be bought at the store?

get chaser from steam, $5. the graphics are dated but it is a solid 40 hour fps. lot of excellent weapons.

Two Worlds 2 , fantastic single player and HUGE long action RPG.

This was the title I was going to name as well, but right now you have to download the game via gamersgate, and it's not clear that the op has Internet access? Does he have Internet access?

Mass Effect 1 and 2, STALKER series, Just Cause 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum (not super long, but it's an awesome game), Freelancer, Super Meat Boy. The lengths of some of those games also depends on how much of a completionist you are; if you just rush through then you can finish them pretty quickly, but if you take your time and do optional things then you'll get a lot more play time.

FarCry is the longest FPS ever made and it will certainly feel that way :p

The speedrun of Unreal 1 is one of the shortest speedruns around. It's only about 45 min long.

Sure feels long, 'til you try a speedrun and realize it's just over an hour...

You can spend weeks or months playing the Stalker series. I'm at the end of my deployment and spent a month playing just Fallout New Vegas.

You need internet access at first to be able to play most of the games the OP listed, so the OP will need to watch out for games requiring online activation to play. Mass Effect being one of them.

IMO, a speedrun isn't really indicative of how long a game is when you're playing normally.

I'd bring Deus Ex and TheNamelessMod (Deus Ex total conversion), Half Life Series, Trackmania, Tetris. Emulated titles might be a possibility too.

Oh yes, if you have a controller, Zelda: Ocarnia of time and Majora's Mask is a must.

5th. Each STALKER game is great, currently playing Total Faction War mod for Clear Sky and enjoying the companion system and radio chatter. STALKER is the series that keeps on giving.

Far Cry esp on realistic is damn long, also I am over 26hours in my deus ex play through.

Witcher
Vampire Bloodlines, fan patched
SS2 if you like old school, also fan patched
KOTOR2, same

The Longest Journey (older-style adventure game point/click, VERY long VERY good story & gameplay). Works with XP/Vista/Win7 as well as 64-bit with a bit of easy tweaking. It's somewhat older nowadays but well worth playing.

One that has not been mentioned yet is total annihilation: kingdoms. That one just kept going and going. The original TA is on sale at GOG, btw. Also a solid bit of fun.

The Steam version works well on 64-bit OSes doesn't it?

Baldurs Gate 1 and Baldurs Gate 2 and the expansion packs for it. Probably over a 100 hours of gameplay.

Divine Divinity

I spent 100's of hours playing Borderlands and its DLC's, playing it over and over, good fun that requires zero thought, great for relaxing. Fallout New Vegas has also taken up a good amount of time but it is getting old after a few play throughs, love the game though.

Just Cause 2 will take you an eternity if you try to do everything. I have nearly 40 hours in the game and I am only at 26%. I dont even have 10% of the stuff I need to collect and have only discovered less than 20% of the locations.

I think I was able to get about 50% after maybe 50 hours, and I'm still going. It's a blast to fire up when I'm bored and just blow $h*t up!

It really will. I've seen RPGs take a lot less time than this thing does if you decide to even attempt to accomplish most of what's in this game to say nothing about all.

I know I'll probably never get 100 percent in this game.

Really an incredible game IMO.

helicopters piss me off though. it gets tedious trying to deal with them because usually when they start coming they dont stop. and having to deal with the boats and the helicopters at the same time can be a nightmare. and the enemies spawning is over the top sometimes too as they just keep popping up and sometimes almost right in front of you. other than that its pretty fun.

I agree with those criticisms.
