Logitech X-540

[BigJavy]

Hey,
I'm just wondering if anyone has gotten to hear the x-540's. I'm guessing they're new, since they're not even on logitech's site from what I can tell. Here's a link to them at BB:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7951139&st=x-540&type=product&id=1152836586066

The speakers look entirely different and they have a control pod instead of having the controls on the speaker. Anyone notice anything else different? They seem the same other than that. I need some new speakers and i'm wondering if I should go for these or find the x-530's somewhere else.

I would say being that these are new, that Logitech has hopefully improved the 530's. They are great speakers for the price. I'd go for it. If they suck take 'em back.

They look pretty expensive compared to the X-530s. If you can find the 530s for a decently lower price then go for it, but if they're around the same price go for these. The control pod in particular would be pretty useful.

Wonder what the "Matrix" button do on the control pod.

Wonder what the "Matrix" button do on the control pod.

From the Best Buy "features" page:

Matrix mode creates 5.1-channel sound from a 2-channel source

hmmm..

well a month or 2 ago i picked up the x-530 and am really happy with them, great for my room (which is my bedroom and my comptuer is my entertainment system *games and movies*)

This should only be better.. But sometimes the x-530s are on sale as low as $49 at PC club.
