I just bought one today, took it home upgraded the firmware and worked great. Then attempted to use it wireless after I charged it... I checked their support forums and a lot of people seem to be having the same issue. Their support just tells you to return it for a replacement. One user said to use the connection utility which I did, and well the wireless receiver is broken... Nice first impression on a $150 mouse. Not hating on Logitech in anyway, just the first mouse I have ever bought that didnt work 100% right out of the box, considering I have the mx518, G7, G500, G9X, G700, G700S, MX Master.

So far the mechanism for the clicking feels better than the G700S, is a lot lighter. The feet dont seem to glide as well as the G700S. Can't say much more because I have to go exchange it soon.

If you don't really care about it being ambi shaped or the extra buttons you might consider waiting for the wireless G403 instead.

I went from g700s to g900, the g900 glides much faster for me. I'm using a hard mat. I would give it a chance with the return.

This is a fantastic mouse.

I'm running into a silly quirk of sorts:

Regardless of whether I'm using it wired or wireless and also regardless of whether or not the wireless adapter (lack of better term) is plugged in to another USB slot or not (Windows 7 64 desktop)... I go into Device Manager and make sure any mouse entries I see can not wake the computer out of sleep mode.

Doesn't matter. If the mouse feels even the *slightest* of movements it bounces the computer out of sleep mode.

What am I missing? It's not the end of the world but if I can smooth this little quirk out I'm off to the races.

Hm, I've had the G900 for a little while now. I like it, just not that big of an improvement over the g700s. I wish they would make an mx master with higher dpi settings. I really like the grip on my mx master.

Whats with the button layout on this mouse?

On the G700S you had:
-4 thumb buttons
-three left click buttons (to the left of your left click)

Thats 7 buttons you could quickly push.

-2 thumb buttons
-No left click buttons
-2 pinky buttons

Thats 2 buttons you can quickly push (in the heat of combat). The pinky buttons are awkward to manipulate and they even include a cover for them because of this.

So spend $150 and go from 7 quickly accessable buttons down to... 2-4

I really like the G900 but I'll say I'm having a little adjustment coming off of a Logitech G9 that I had been using since December 2007. Hard to believe.

This G900 mouse may be "too light" and "too small" for me. I can't believe I'm saying that. I don't have monster sized hands by any means.

If I did return it, and I really don't want to, I'm not sure what I'd go for.

This is strictly a personal preference commentary and not a "quality issue" of any kind.

I love my g900 and it's the first Logitech mouse I've used on a daily basis after owning quite a few of them. I normally preferred razer mamba since the shape was perfect as was the weight until they changed the design with the chroma which I hate.

Lately though I noticed my mouse intermittently giving a hardware malfunction USB error and I have to unplug it to fix it. Opened a ticket with Logitech support (who take forever to respond) and they authorized a replacement. Problem is I don't think they cross ship which sucks.

I guess to make it ambidextrous?

But yeah, that's why I'm sticking with my G700.

I have the G502 -- I love the shape, and was hoping to pick up a G900 for work (small mice causing my hand to hurt). Anyone use a G502 and this one?

I'm still having a little bit of an adjustment issue with this otherwise great mouse.

Coming off that old Logitech G9 I admit: I wouldn't mind some more size and weight or at least options to modify the mouse like they used to allow on a lot of the others. Add magets for weight...change the frame, etc.

I really loved the G9 because it allowed all of that.

It's like I'm fighting myself on this. I feel terrible "complaining" about a stellar mouse like this.

You shouldn't. They had proven designs and instead of putting the latest tech in them they tried to reinvent the wheel.

Vote with your wallet and/or send them your feedback.

I'm still inside my 30 days with Amazon but it's pretty close. If I really send this back... I'm going to feel bad about it because there's nothing wrong with the mouse and it seems abusive to do it.

Feedback? I can do that. Not sure they would really care.

I'm not sure what I would get instead of this mouse.

I admit to having a bit of a Logitech bias here because I've had repeatedly good experiences with them over the years. I wouldn't even exclude this mouse from that description. It's just a preference and adjustment issue. I'm coming along.

I just wouldn't have minded something closer or at least something more customizeable where, if I wanted to make this more like the G9, I could have.

Maybe they can whip up an accessory pack for this mouse. I'll ask them for whatever little good it may do.

Just got the G900 yesterday, got it from the Best Buy 50% sale. Reading through the comments here I have some of the same thoughts. My main mouse for the last year has been the Logitech MX Master which I like though it's not a great gaming mouse. What's weird for me out of the box is that I never thought that the MX Master was heavy, now compared to the G900 it feels like it weighs a ton. At first I didn't care for the weight now I'm totally fine with it. The ambidextrous design was also a bit annoying but I'm fine with that also now.

I guess the two things I don't care much for are the lack of the smart scrolling that the MX Master has, free scrolling is automatic with a more forceful spin. Like the G700 which was my last Logtiech gaming mouse, there's a button to enabled stepped and free scrolling, that's just not as good as the MX Master. And the lack of buttons. I've tried setting up all four with the optional two on the right side. Being right handed that just isn't working to well.

But yeah, the point of the this mouse is the tracking about that's fantastic. Like a lot of folks feel, this is the best mouse I've ever used in that regard. So for $80+sales tax I'm pretty happy. The biggest problem to me is the lack of side buttons which have more use in general desktop use and can always go with the MX Master there but now the thing just feels like a brick.

Can someone let me know if you can set up the back/forward buttons on both sides or do they turn off when using it either left hand or right hand? Hoped that made sense...

You can use all four buttons, you have to set it up in software after you install the buttons. I tried that once but didn't like it so I removed them and went back to two buttons.

For some reason I think that it be useful, but i think I'd keep hitting it by mistake if I had something set up for it when gaming. BTW can you use horizontal scroll on the wheel for MS Office like Excel? I only ask cuz I have the G402 and HS doesn't work but works for Google etc.

The scroll wheel tilts for horizontal scrolling and that works in most programs I've used in Office.
