Little Big Planet DELAYED EVERYWHERE

Muslims need to chill the f*ck out and relax. Its not everyone else's job in life to go around on eggshells hoping to not offend you. Get over yourselves.

How come you can say anything you want about Jesus, but as soon as you invoke anything Islam you are screwed?

You sir get my post of the day award. Well stated. And it's not just Muslims. It's a huge number of people worldwide, in all races, creeds, colors.

Huh? The problem is that the lyrics in the music talk about killing people. I'm typically against stupid shit like this but I'd say something like that warrants a fix if true.

Oh oops, I didn't even realize it was another whiney muslim! I thought they were just going to pull the lyrics because they were pretty mean. Reading > me

One question I have is how did this get through QA in the first place. I mean, I guess it would be tough to check for something like that if only an English speaking person who thinks the song sounds cool is working on it, but the lyrics are pretty sinister for a game like LBP.

The words are:

1- In the 18th second: "كل نفس ذائقة الموت" ("kollo nafsin tha'iqatol mawt", literally: 'Every soul shall have the taste of death').

2- Almost immediately after, in the 27th second: "كل من عليها فان" ("kollo man alaiha fan", literally: 'All that is on earth will perish').

Methinks someone's head will roll for this. No clue how much this is going to cost them. One of the biggest bags of win that PS3 had coming just got a bit lighter I think. It still will be a great game, just a little later now.

So the death sentence isn't killing? How odd. I thought they resulted in much the same outcome.

Yes. They parish, just like the innocent did in 911. Nothing to joke about there, and no reason to create a custom map in a game to recreate one of the worst tragedies in the history of the world.

But if you approve, and if that is what he wants make maps of, that is why we fight for the US freedoms everyday. So people like you and him can speak your peace, right or wrong. Doesn't mean I have to agree with the freedom of those that turn attacks on innocent men, women and children into a comedy show.

Probably the re-pressing of about 2 million blu-rays at around $2.50 each. Shipping costs both ways. Modifying advertising and of course lost sales.

Wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being about $10m worth of mistake by the end. If not more.

I wonder why they can't just roll out a patch on PSN for those who want their game patched to remove the offensive lyrics.

Because not everyone has the internet, and it still leaves them open to outrage from those that don't patch.

Those that don't have internet, and find outrage at the two lyrics (that can understand them), could call Sony and obtain a free replacement copy that is fixed.

I know...I know...not everyone that has a PS3 has a phone either.

But, Sony has gone above and beyond the COD to fix this, and we should applaud them.

I hate that Sony/MM is taking the heat from this, when it should be the artists that are given blame for this.
I mean, it's NOT THEIR SONG... they just licensed it for the game.
Blah.

Whatever, I'm picking up the game later today either way, but it sucks to know that the song will be patched out anyway.

It's really not about people wanting to get a fixed copy. It's about stopping them getting a copy that they could complain about.

I should mention that if the game was not rated E for everyone, but had been rated M, I would not agree with the removal of these two lyrics.

Artists should be able to have whatever they like in their songs, it's the job of the publisher/developer to make sure the song fits their product. Don't blame the artists for the stupidity of the suits.

Ok... some of my frustration has passed...

I really think religions shouldnt interfere in business , economics , politics or just about anything outside of their circle. But that just me , and im a dreamer.

We will sadly have to wait another month before we are able to play the game.

The problem I have with it is that they are talking about death in a game that is going to be played by kids as young as say, 5 years old. They shouldn't be subjected to this.

This is super shitty. I was looking forward to LBP next week so much. Retailers are listing the new release as Nov. 14 i hear. Hopefully sony is awesome and puts the game up on PSN sooner than later instead of just making everyone wait an extra month.

here is a post i found on the sony forums ... very good

So, it's ok in RFOM to desecrate Manchester Cathedral by blowing the crap out of it, and filling it with aliens and body parts, without so much as a patch? On the other hand Sony are scared to upset Muslims with a Qu'ran quote?

Double standards?

Resistance isn't rated E for everyone. Children are not supposed to be exposed to adult content in a rated E game. Children should never be exposed to adult content.

I get what you are saying though. If this game was rated M, I would be on the exact same page as you, and claim double standards.

sadly i think youre kinda right... but its a little innofensive if you ask me. Kids can get their hand on stuff way worst than this .

But the delay is effective... but for me , its just another proof religions are a pain in the ass for the world.

But they shouldn't. It's our job as human's to protect our children. If my son had some adult content in his spongebob game for example, I would complain.

Just because kids can "get adult content other ways" doesn't mean it's right. We need to prevent that.

If only it was adult content you would be right....

here are the two part of the lyrics song

1- In the 18th second: "كل نفس ذائقة الموت" ("kollo nafsin tha'iqatol mawt", literally: 'Every soul shall have the taste of death').

2- Almost immediately after, in the 27th second: "كل من عليها فان" ("kollo man alaiha fan", literally: 'All that is on earth will perish').

now tell me we seriously need to protect our children from this?

So the Quran is not safe for Children?

whatever, let them have their patch.

sony, ready your retard canon and fire out home with some arabic scrawling in a dark alley or something.

Yes...let's walk around telling our children

"Every soul shall have the taste of death" and "All that is on earth will perish" and encourage 5 year old children to listen to discussions of death and perishing in a rated E game.

That IS adult content.

BTW, who on this forum said the Quran is not safe for children? We're just curious.
