I didn't. He's the one who said people who don't want to go through all the work are dumb, then said he wouldn't put it on his girlfriend's computer. If he thinks that she can't handle it, then what does that say?

Let me tell you something my lass uses linux, only because If I am on linux and she needs to do something she will just use it. And before you ask She is a phamasist for the NHS and next to no understanding of a calculator let alone windows.

And? My girl runs OS X, Linux, and Win 2K. No big deal for any of them. Is this a contest? I don't ever have to give her support for any of them, because I've shown her the best places to look and don't act high and mighty about fixing problems (I do it for a living, I don't need it when I'm not getting paid).

As for the "MS troll" remark, I wasn't trolling, and I never started the "Win vs *nix" crap—jpmkm did. I happily use both, and was tossing in my gripes about Linux on this thread, as were others. You were jumping in after every other post and trying to argue that their gripes had no merit. That is trolling. Go ahead and start a "Windows gripes" thread... oh, wait, that's 85% of the threads here.

If an operating system includes everything that a user would need, then it is bloated. I understand you use windows because it is easier for you, but quit saying that it isn't bloated. Nobody believes you.

MTB2, I've never had much luck with any of the support communities, often running into people like the previous two there who would rather insult me for still liking Windows, though I have to admit to not having tried Gentoo's support groups. Do they only support Gentoo? You see, I've grown attached to Slackware, and I don't know that I want to try out a whole new distro (been bouncing around distros for years). The only reasonable place I've found is Ars Linux Kung Fu forum so far. Maybe I'll give it a test in VM first. Thanks.

I do not care who started what. I do not care what the topic is. You flame and you risk losing your posting privelidges. That is all there is to it. I am tired of seeing flaming going on in this forum. We are supposed to be here to help each other out and exchange information.
