Linking Hard Drives?

I am setting up a windows based storage server for my house and i have 4x 250gb SATA2 hard drives. Is there any way I can set this up to where it looks like a single 1TB drive?? Or any other suggestions would be appreciated.

What you're thinking of is a JBOD (just a bunch of disks). The drives are all separate, but they appear as one volume to the OS.
For that kind of storage though, you might want to look into running a raid-5 to have some redundancy (just dont forget raid!=backup)

A JBOD is what i was thinking of because i dont really need backup. All this is for is for a place for me and my roomates to put our dvds and music on so we can stream it to our home theatre sys; and a comp to run my ftp. How would i get a JBOD to work?

Windows or Linux?

In windows it is called drive or volume spanning, it is done in the Disk Management MMC (right click on My Computer->Manage)
