I have a two LCDs on my desk both with matte finish. I have a 100w lamp behind me an the glare of the ligh on the screen bothers me. Glossy would make it 100x worse but I'd love to totally eliminate it as much as possible.

What does everyone do to takle this problem? Do you move the light source somewhere else where it is not visible on the screen from your vantage point if the screen in fact was a mirror? How bought reflecting light off the wall behind you? that might help because the light source would not be so bright yet illuminate the room just fine.

My latest idea is to look for a lamp shade that is two different colors. One black on one side that blocks most of the light and one white on the other. This would stop the light behind me from shinning this direction. Not sure if they exist.

My monitor, and TV provide me with enough light, but I've also put a lamp in my closet with the door half open(This depends on your room's set-up though.)
