LIAN LI PC-V350 !!!

CIMG4525.jpg

hehehehe, took me a while to spot the difference, nice!
I might do the same on my next rebuild!

Does anyone know what the largest size (length wise) a radiator would fit in here. Tremeoles is using the Magicool extreme slim profile one (273.3mm), but I was thinking of the black ice pro II (277mm). The reason I want to know because the magicool is a bit wide at 45mm while the black ice pro is 25mm
I had a black ice, not sure if it was the pro, but it wouldn't fit in the Llian Li 351 case. I had to return it.

Any updates on how well the HX750/850 fit in the case. I read lowteckh's comment but I'm not quite sure what that means. It's late here :(.

It fits, but the clearance is horrible. You almost have to have the plugs plugged into the powersupply before you put it in the case. For me, I'm doing a complete mod of my v351 over the next month or so. Once it's complete it'll have a TON of room. :)

Hi There!

I'm a new poster to these forums, however I studied many threads when it came to building my new SFF system with a Lian Li PC-v351! Best case ever! :)

Speccies:

PSU Corsair HX520W
CPU AMD Phenom X3 720
GPU Sapphire 4890 1GB
MOBO Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-US2H
RAM G.Skill 2x2GB PC8500 PK series
HDD 1 WD 500GB Caviar Black
HDD 2 WD 250GB Caviar
DVD Pioneer 215BK
Fan Controller Scythe Kaze Master 5.25" BK
CPU Cooler Coolermaster GeminiII S
GPU Cooler Zalman GV1000
Fans 2 x Silverstone 120mm FM121

Unfortunately I don't have any cool mods planned yet.... but reviewing this thread has given me some ideas!

This is a great forum! There is a lot of useful info for people who are new to the Small form factor market! SFF FTW!

Hi !

First of all, sorry for my poor English :(

Here is my air cooling build :

Not big change, just a NH U9B for the CPU heatsink

Here is my current water cooling project (not finished) on V350B :

It remains to be done fixing the radiator to the side wall graphics card and a little cable management.

Looks very nice so far. I'm not a fan of external wc'ing but that's pretty slick and I bet you get awesome temps. :D

cheers.

GV-N98TSL-1GI Fanless 9800GT 1GB GDDR3 PCI-E

Can I install this graphic card "GIGABYTE GV-N98TSL-1GI GeForce 9800 GT 1GB Silent Cell" into the PC case "LIAN LI PC-V351 MicroATX". I'm asking this because of the card's heat-pipe size. (not about the length 10inch)
Here is some pictures of the graphic card.

"not about 10inch"? Eh?

If it's 10 inches then it'll fit. The cooler looks like the length of a regular full size video card (GTX2XX, ATI 4870/90).

Thanks but I am not talking about the length.
The length 10" is okay. I confirmed it. I finished to read all posts of this thread.

However, look the height of the exceeded heat-pipes. Please see the "heat-PIPES."

P.S. sorry, big size of the pictures.

well I just popped off my side case and there seems to be about 3/4 of an inch or so of space from the top of the pcb of my video card (ati2900) to the hdd cage.
i am also hoping to pick up this fanless 9800gt. if that won't work quite fit, i may settle for a 9600gt.
i can't take my system anymore..too bloody loud. hey, does anyone know if the scythe zipang 2 will fit in this case?
i guess i should pop off the case and measure....
in any case, what is the best "silent" cpu solution for this case?

Thanks mahdiy85 !

Scythe Zipang2 will fit in Lian Li V350, but should check your motherboard area. (I got an answer from Scythe USA.)

Wow rEVjon, great job, that looks really good, looks like it should have came with the case straight from lian li like that!
How ,much would it cost me if you were to make me one?

I have MODU82 625W into my PC-V351
Fits perfectly, plus 14cm deep let much more space

Thanks mahdiy85 !

thanks for looking that up.

i should have posted this picture a while back, it shows the clearance when sliding in the motherboard with gpu.
(i tried to remove the fan from my radeon, but it obviously was too hot, shut off, and so i had to refit the fan)

anyway, from the picture you can maybe gauge how well that fanless 9800gt will fit. maybe those pipes can be squeezed down a bit in order to fit...
have you already bought the gpu?

dsc04006.jpg

Clearance is ok between HS & PSU
However I found my previous 500W Silver power pulling a bit more air. I mean MODU's fan allways runs less than 500 rpm

Could we have a chance to slide the new H50 water cooling from Corsair into the front position of the PC-V35x ?

When looking at H50 pictures, its heatsink seems larger the 12 cm fan

EDIT:
After removing all parts, I noticed that one of the 2 front fans can be slide
at the middle of the tray, firmely locked left or right, but not both.
It looks like there is enough clearance for H50 ( without modding ).
However, if doing so, only the H50 fan may supply outside air into case;
it's faisable but won't help the temperature of the passiv components (IOH, ICH, GPU, HD)

Great job on that back plate rEVjon...I've pm'd you as well.

Also, I've been having trouble deciding on a CPU cooler for my V351, I'm looking for a "quiet as possible" low profile CPU cooler. I was about to pull the trigger on a Nexus LOW-7000 until I read a review that pointed out you could possibly hit the northbridge with this cooler if you have a large NB. I have the XFX-9300 motherboard, it has a rather large NB...

Any ideas on a CPU cooler that would work for me?

Best,

Liquid Cool

@ Liquid Cool:
tower- or top-down design?

If you prefer the latter check out the Silverstone SST-NT06-E or the Coolermaster GeminII S which works on my Q9550 with a Skythe S-Flex just fine. The box is on my left on the table and almost noiseless. See this post. No case modding needed.

I just hope the VRM R1 of Thermalright will be in stores soon, want to squeeze it in also. :)

the noctua nh-c12p is also a good choice, its quiet and performs really well.

If you care to share the blue print, other people can take it to cnc cutter to make it loacally.
To my recollection one is already shared a few pages back.

Just trying to help.

I didnt use any software to cut the backpanel, it was done by a dremel and file for finishing.

I do suggest to use that template for machine cutter

Thanks for the ideas on CPU coolers. I ended up ordering a small Titan cooler this evening from FrozenCPU, and then I'm putting an 80mm Artic Cooling Fan on it. I'll take pictures of my build when the parts come in so you can see the cooler. Although, I was leaning toward that Noctua cooler, but I'd like to keep it small if I can get away with it.

Overall, Im very happy with this case, no problems with heat and once the stock intel cooler is gone, I'm hoping the whine goes away...the whine is at a pitch that is driving me up the wall.

I do plan on doing a few light mods this winter though...spray the back plate etc.

Does anyone know if the Noctua U12P will fit into the v350 without modding? I'm interested in building a core i7 system now that I've saved up some more money.

what tool do you use to remove the hard drive cage?
weird screws holding it in place..

it fits if you install in the case, but depending on your motherboard, you might be able to slide it in and out with it already installed, with my gigabyte g45 board i was able to do this.

EDIT: whoops misunderstood the U for a C, my bad.

will not fit without modding, 158mm in height, v350 can only accomodate 120mm hsf

use dremel to drill ou the rivets

@ rEVjon,
what heatsink are you using on your chipset? the Thermalright HR-05 SLI/IFX?
thx
