Y'know, you people are a bad influence... :p

Despite the bills, I just can't seem to stop Folding. "Let 'em run just one more day, just let it finish that work unit and shut it down."

For one reason or another, I kept forgetting to kill them. Four machines are offline, *but* two others have found a niche at the office. The power bill slacked up. Air conditioners are stored for the season.

The result? Pulled out of the nosedive, and have leveled out at around 1800 ppd. :)

No promises once heating season starts (already got the prefill, $180 for 70 gal.!!! :eek: )

boxen in the bedroom make for a comfy sleep (in the winter).... I have a Dually 1700+ heating my bedroom at night, even helps keep the fishtank at a constant temp. :D

I think I should go for one of my older ideas and start a fat club or a fitness club. That way I could hook up little generators to bikes, treadmills, rowing machines, etc. That way it could power boxen while people are using them. To hell with solar panels. Make power and make people get into shape at the same time.

It would also be nice if I could harness power by using beer curls. I'd probably have loads of power then.

As for it getting cold and using the heating. If I can afford internet access and a nice router soon, I have plans to heat my apartment with boxen. I plan on having at least one boxen in every room that is safe for them. I probably won't have to run the heater as much since the boxen should take the chill out of the air. No, this is not a joke.

You know, if you're close enough to Louisiana/Mississippi/Texas, there is PLENTY of free firewood around. One of our friends had a 24" diameter pine tree (not sure about height), clip the corner of their house. After the tree was removed, there remained a rather large pile of 18" long pieces of trunks. I'm going to get a wagon of some sort so I can start hauling it home--we have a wood-burning fireplace! (BTW, don't try to use a wheelbarrow--the weight of the wood will completely destroy the tire)

Yeah, but you will turn off those P4's while the woman is in there, right?

I usually don't need to use the heat much during the winter here. The lowest temp I've seen since I've lived here is 26F. I am looking forward to being able to open the windows and use no a/c or heat though. I still have to run the a/c right now, it was nearly 90F this weekend.

And I can't wait till winter its boxen weather for sure. Nice cold days huddled around the OC'ed boxen churning out points

I thought that was *why* you turned the b0xen off while women etc. Because you're [H]ard, y'know.

All I know is the old IDE drive I had to install Windows on makes so much noise that it annoys *me*, so it's gotta be driving everyone else absolutely crazy.

Wonder how she will like being Primed and Memtested....you know, just to prove shes stable!

 
My experience is they all fail stability tests within 24 hours.

 
In order to properly Benchmark a woman.

You have to take it from Mr. Bennet's standpoint. Test it from the consumer.

1. Pick up a woman
2. See how long it takes her to get ready
3. See how long it takes her to get where she's going
4. See if she's OEM
5. Check out to see if all of the "extras" are included with the box.
6. Also you might want to see if she's got her cables shaved and tucked away
7. Then check for any odd smells to make sure she's booting up properly
8. If you hear any errors on startup. Reset the CMOS, put in a new battery (trust me she'll love the new battery) and go to town.
9. See how long it takes her to get to winblows (if it takes her to long get rid of her she's not [H]ard enough)
10. Also test her with Prime95 to make sure there aren't any stability failures
11. If she's lasted all night and she doesn't go take a memory dump in the morning it's all good.
12. Then write a review and give us what it rated out of 10.
13. One last thing make sure she comes with a repair disc.
 
So much for getting a feel for my new daily average. What the hell happened between 3 and 6pm at Stanford today?

According to this , I finished 29 WUs in a three hour period. From the looks of it, the team itself got a case of the Genome "Raging Dino Dump" along the same timeframe.
