Hi there
Use to love building and fixing computers, got burned out after everyone I knew coming to my house to fix their mess, or calling to see "what's wrong with my machine" at anytime of the day. So I completely "retire" myself and eventually got rusty and left behind, now I'm the one looking for expert advice
My Rig is gonna be used for graphic design - Photoshop & Illustrator , normal office stuff, web browsing, and several printing and cutting software to run my solvent printer and my vinyl cutters.
I want to have as much memory as possible (without being absurd), so I'll need to change to a 64-bit OS, I'm running XP 32 right now
I' like to get everything through Newegg since I have credit there and I'd like to take advantage of that.
Now, I'll proceed with the required process
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Graphic Design, photoshop - illustrator - Vinyl cutting software and RIP software. NOT Gaming at all.
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
Open, no top of the line, unnecessary luxury, is a wrokstation not a gaming rig
3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
US - Texas - Houston
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
RAM - CPU - SSD - PSU(Maybe) - GPU (maybe) - Sound w/front panel would be nice
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
PSU - Corsair GS600 - Couple of SATA HD - DVD writer - ATI HD5570 (want to run 2-3 monitors in the future)
6) Will you be overclocking?
No
7)
7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
Famous maker 24" 1920x1200 and Hanns.G 25" (a 32" Spectre TV avaiable too)
8)
When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
ASAP
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video? etc.
Not sure, that's why I'm here
I need speed and efficiency
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If so, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
Will need 64-bit OS but don't include that in the price
Well, let me thank you in advance for taking the time to help me out here, glad to see knowledgeable people willing to help by doing what they like. I know I sound like an old fart, but I'm "just" 32, that was the rustiness taking over
Take care and I'll be checking daily to see what you guys come up with.
NOTE: I got FRY's in town and credit with them too, so feel free to take that into account if necessary
