Yep, you heard me. It's silly that someone has to reply four times in a row because they can't simply modify their original post.

Was this functionality removed as an attempt to inflate post counts? HardForum has over 10 million posts. I think you guys can stop inflating post counts now.
 
WTF are you talking about? You can edit your posts in every subforum.

The only place where you can't edit your post is the News section. It's disabled there in an effort to make sure that people actually take their time and post well thought out and well written posts. There's always a bunch of knee-jerk reactions/posts in that section that aren't well thought out, etc.

So either you've been spending a lot of time in the News section or you haven't been able to find the edit posts button.

In fact, if you look in my post, you can clearly see evidence of me editing my post after it was posted.

I think it's done (in the News forum which is what I believe you're speaking of) because the intention is if you're going to post something, you should take some time to consider what you're about to post before doing so. You still have the option to preview what you're about to post, so in actuality having Edit capability only serves one purpose:

To let you change what you've said after you'd said it, and that can cause a lot of problems in some respects, especially if you're calling someone out about something or creating a problem for whatever reason.

Is it really so tough to think about what you're planning to post and hit Preview first?

If it is, perhaps you shouldn't be offering an opinion or statement in the first place.

Think about it.

They are NOT even close. There are some RINO's (Republican in name only) that do want more govt., but the vast majority of Republicans support smaller govt and fewer taxes contrary to the vast majority of Democrats.

I'm pretty sure for every one of the posts you referred to, there's 2-3 intelligent posts out there.

Either way man, it does not look like that "no editing posts" in the News section will be removed/lifted soon.
 
I'd say it usually goes more like 1 dumb post, 1 moderately intelligent post, 1 white noise post, another white noise post, another dumb post, and another moderately intelligent post.

...before commenting on what others say, you should look at what you're posting first. It's just as bad, if not worse. The news section isn't your personal little soapbox. This is the very reason why you aren't allowed to edit posts there.

Dude, don't even assume what my political views are. They're far different from the example posts you provided.

Look dude, you're more than welcome to keep posting the forums. But you're making a fuss over one small feature that's not necessarily needed if you just proofread and and wait to post your posts.

Your concerns are noted, but the no edit rule in the News forum will not change until Kyle has a change of heart, which is unlikely.
 
I will make it even simpler. You no longer have access to the News section, so now you will not have to worry about editing your posts in there.
